| Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of preoperative sleep quality on postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV)in patients undergoing gynecological surgery through the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale(PSQI).Methods:During the preoperative visit,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale(PSQI)was used to investigate the sleep quality of gynecological surgery patients in recent one month(single blind, blind for patients).According to the patients’ answers, the scores were recorded and the total score of sleep quality was calculated. The main outcome measure was the incidence and grade of postoperative nausea and vomiting.T test,ROC curve, multiple linear regression, correlation analysis and binary logistic regression were used to explore the effect of sleep quality on postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients with gynecological surgeryResults:A total of 268 patients who underwent gynecological surgery were included in the study, with an average age of 45 years,BMI of 18-24 kg / m2,no history of smoking, motion sickness, nausea and vomiting, and no severe gastrointestinal symptoms before surgery(patients with scores above 26 were excluded according to the gastrointestinal symptom score scale).Compared with the non vomiting group, the PSQI scores of the two groups were significantly different, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The higher the total score of PSQI,the more prone the patients were to PONV,and the higher the degree of PONV.There were significant differences in the incidence of nausea and vomiting in different PSQI score intervals, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).After adjusting for age, pneumoperitoneum, postoperative analgesia and other factors, the total score of PSQI was positively correlated with PONV.Stratified analysis showed that PSQI was more predictive of postoperative nausea and vomiting in a finer age range(area under ROC curve was close to 1).Conclusion:Sleep quality is closely related to PONV.Poor sleep quality may be a predictor of PONV,and improving sleep quality may help to reduce the incidence of PONV. |
