Objective: Application of real-time shear wave elastography technology(SWE)respectively to detect and analyse quantitatively with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetic patients with pancreatic tissue elasticity,at the same time through the application of islet function test for pancreatic islet function in patients with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetic, and explore the joint application of SWE technology and islet function test in people with pre-diabetes and type2 diabetic patients with the clinical application value of early screening. Methods: This study selected 54 patients with clinic or hospital for type 2diabetes,in 42 patients with pre-diabetes outpatient and conform to the requirements of the condition such as age, gender and its matching 41 cases had normal, healthy adults as control group, all the object of study can be directly measured through SWE technology their pancreatic head and body of the Young’s modulus value(Emax,Emin,Emean),but the pancreas tail because of its anatomical location deep, vulnerable to gastrointestinal disturbance, and other factors influence the abdominal cavity, measurement is difficult,so the in-depth study on this inconvenience. The changes of Young’s modulus of pancreas in normal healthy control group, prediabetic patients group and type 2diabetic patients group were quantitatively analyzed and compared.Combining with the results of islet function test, the relationship between Young’s modulus of pancreas and islet function in prediabetic patients and type 2 diabetic patients was analyzed. Results: 1.The Emax,Emin and Emean of pancreas head and body in type2 diabetic group were all higher than those in normal healthy control group and prediabetic group.2.There was no distinct difference in the Emax,Ein,Emean of the pancreas head and body of the prediabetic patients group compared with the normal healthy control group.3.There was no notable difference in Young’s modulus of pancreas in normal healthy control group, prediabetic group and type 2 diabetic group.4.There was no significant correlation between pancreatic Emax,Emin,Emean and its islet function in prediabetic group.5.There was a negative correlation between pancreatic Emax and Emean and its islet function in type 2 diabetic group, while there was no significant correlation between pancreatic Emax and its islet function. Conclusion: 1.Real-time shear wave elastography can be used to quantitatively analyze the elasticity of pancreatic tissue between normal adults and type 2 diabetic patients, prediabetic patients and type 2 diabetic patients.2.There was no significant difference in pancreatic tissue elasticity between prediabetic patients and normal adults.3.There was no significant correlation between Young’s modulus of pancreas and islet function in patients with prediabetes measured by SWE.4.Young’s modulus of pancreas measured by SWE was negatively correlated with islet function in type 2 diabetic patients to some extent.5.The application of real-time shear wave elastography to the pancreas may be helpful in the early screening of type 2 diabetic and the follow-up of islet function in patients with diagnosed type 2 diabetic.
