| ObjectiveThrough the analysis of preoperative serum LDH and SA levels in patients with benign and malignant breast tumors,we hope to study the relationship between preoperative serum LDH and SA levels in patients with benign and malignant breast tumors and their clinical and pathological characteristics. So as to identified the significance of preoperative serum LDH and SA levels in patients with breast cancer.Materials and MethodsThe patients admitted to the Breast Surgery Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University for surgical treatment from January 2018 to April 2020 were retrospectively analyzed(A total of 1494 patients with breast cancer and 1113 patients with benign breast tumors were enrolled.).Preoperative serum LDH and S A test results, clinical characteristics and pathological characteristics of the patients were collected.Including age, height, weight, menopausal status, fertility history, breastfeeding history, preoperative complication of other diseases(such as hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, etc.),preoperative chemotherapy, pathological type, tumor size, lymph node metastasis status, distant metastasis status, hormone receptor status, etc. The relationship between preopertative serum LDH and SA levels and the factors above were analyzed by statistical methods such as normality test,chi-square test,Mann-Whitney U test of two independent samples,Kruskal-Wallis H test of multiple independent samples and multiple linear regression.ResultsThe results of the comparative analysis of preoperative serum LDH and SA levels in patients with breast cancer and benign breast tumor showed that the preoperative serum LDH and S A levels in patients with breast cancer and the incidence of high serum LDH and SA levels were higher than those in patients with benign breast tumor. In breast cancer patients, the percentage of menopause, advanced age, fertility history and overweight patients was higher than that of benign breast tumor group. The analyze between preoperative serum LDH and SA levels and clinical characteristics of breast cancer patients showed that high serum LDH level was correlated with menopause, advanced age, overweight, preoperative chemotherapy and history of hypertension.High serum SA levels were associated with menopause, advanced age, preoperative chemotherapy, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus.Preoperative serum LDH and SA levels in breast cancer patients were correlated with clinical stages. The serum LDH level in Ⅳ stage breast cancer patients was higher than that in 0-Ⅲ stage patients, and the serum LDH level in Ⅲ stage breast cancer patients was higher than that in the Ⅰ stage patients. The serum SA level of the stage II-Ⅳ patients with cancer was higher than that of the stage I patients with cancer. The serum levels of LDH and SA in patients with tumor length>2cm were higher than those in patients with small tumor size. The serum levels of LDH and SA in patients with lymph node metastasis were higher than those without lymph node metastasis. The serum levels of LDH and SA in patients with distant metastasis were higher than those without distant metastasis. The serum LDH level of ER receptor-positive breast cancer patients was lower than that of ER receptor-negative breast cancer patients, but there was no significant difference in serum SA level between different ER receptor states. The serum levels of LDH and SA in breast cancer patients with PR receptor positive were lower than those with PR receptor negative.Preoperative serum SA levels in patients with histologic grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ invasive breast cancer were higher than those in patients with histologic grade I.Multiple linear regression analysis results of preoperative serum LDH and SA levels in breast cancer patients showed that serum LDH level was independently positively correlated with preoperative chemotherapy, hypertension, advanced age, overweight,M stage, and negatively correlated with PR status.Serum SA level was independently positively correlated with preoperative chemotherapy, hypertension, age, overweight,N stage, and negatively correlated with PR status.Conclusions1.Preoperative serum LDH and SA levels of breast cancer patients were significantly higher than those of benign breast tumor patients. It suggests that preoperative serum LDH and SA levels may be used as auxiliary serological indexes to judge benign and malignant breast tumors before surgery.2.The later the clinical stage of breast cancer patients are,the higher the preoperative serum LDH and SA levels are, suggesting that preoperative serum LDH and SA detection may be one of the indicators for preoperative evaluation of the patient’s condition, but the mechanism still needs further study.3.The preoperative serum LDH and S A levels of breast cancer patients can reflect the severity of the patient’s condition to a certain extent, but are affected by menstrual status, age, body mass index, preoperative chemotherapy, hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease and other factors. |
