ObjectiveTo compare the diagnostic value of straight leg elevation test and MRI in lumbar disc herniation.MethodsAccording to the inclusion criteria, the exclusion criteria selected 117 patients who were hospitalized in Shenzhen Baoan District Chinese Medicine Hospital from May 2019 to January 2020 to meet the inclusion criteria, then 115 patients was randomly selected. All patients were recorded for age, sex, course of disease,MRI findings, straight leg elevation test angle.Cases of lumbar disc herniation diagnosed according to diagnostic criteria. The sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic efficacy of MRI and straight leg elevation tests for lumbar disc herniation were calculated.ResultsThe sensitivity and specificity of straight leg elevation test to the diagnosis of lumbar disc herniation was 91.2%and 94.8%,the area under the ROC curve was 0.930.The sensitivity and specificity of MRI in the diagnosis of lumbar disc herniation were 100%and 46.6%,the area under the ROC curve was 0.733.ConclusionBoth straight leg elevation test and MRI have important diagnostic value for lumbar disc herniation, but straight leg elevation test has higher diagnostic efficiency. The sensitivity’ of MRI is very high,it is not easy to miss diagnosis, but the specificity is low,and it is easy to appear misdiagnosis. The sensitivity of straight leg elevation test was low,but the specificity was significantly higher than that of MRI,which was not easy to be misdiagnosed.
