Plant leaves are an important medium which connecting plants with the external environment, carrying the transformation of plant resource acquisition and utilization, and can intuitively reflect the adaptation strategies of plants to environmental changes. In order to explore the adaptability characteristics of leaf functional traits of original karst forest, woody plants grown in different terrains(valley, funnel, shady slope, sunny slope)in Maolan National Reserve were taken as the research object. The woody plants in different terrains were investigated and sampled by combination of sample plot and line. The leaf fresh weight(FW),leaf dry weight(DW),leaf thickness(LT),leaf area(LA),specific leaf area(SLA),leaf dry matter content(LDMC),chlorophyll content(Chl),leaf tissue density(LTD),leaf carbon content(LCC),leaf nitrogen content(LNC)and leaf phosphorus content(LPC)of woody plants were measured. The relationships between the different leaf functional traits were analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis. The differences in plant leaf functional traits of different terrains were analyzed by one-way ANOVA.And the relationships of leaf functional traits with soil characteristics were analyzed by redundancy analysis.Leaf functional traits of different growth forms and woody plants grown in different terrains were compared. The results were as follows:(1)There were 76 species in the survey site, belonging to 65 genera in 38 families.Lauraceae was the most abundant, and it was the dominant family of Maolan Karst Forest. The species in the valley were rich and the species in the slope were relatively sparse. The Shannon-Wiener index,Margalef richness index and Simpson dominance index of different terrains has certain differences, while the Pielou evenness index was not significantly different. It was found that 42 evergreen tree species and 34 deciduous tree species were investigated, which was in line with the characteristics of Maolan Karst Forest as an evergreen deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest in terms of tree species.(2)The leaf thickness and leaf tissue density were good adaptability to habitat. And plant leaf carbon content was the highest and relatively stable, there was no significant difference between different terrains. There were significant differences in other plant leaf functional traits between different terrains.Plant in shady slope and sunny slope14
