| Body size is an important biological characteristic of organisms.In Trichogramma,body size is closely related to its parasitic ability.The body size of Trichogramma wasps is strongly influenced by the host,but the size of organisms is also closely related to of the parent.In order to determine whether the body size of Trichogramma has obvious heritability,and whether the influence of body size on parasitic ability is consistent among different species of Trichogramma,we studied the relationship between the body size of T.bilingensis,T.cacoeciae,T.dendrolimi and T.ostriniae and the body size of their progeny,as well as the relationship between body size and parasitic ability.The results are as follows:(1)In T.bilingensis,T.dendrolimi,T.ostriniae,body size of son has a significant positively correlation with mother’s body size.In T.cacoeciae,daughter’s body size was not correlated with mother’s body size.Daughter’s body size of T.bilingensis,T.dendrolimi and T.cacoeciae is determined by the size of the father and mother,of which the larger one contributed more effects.(2)The checking time,ovipositing time and ending time in T bilingensis,checking time,ovipositing time in T.cacoeciae,ovipositing time and ending time in T.dendrolimi,ending time in T.ostriniae were negatively correlated with hind tibia length(HTL)of the Trichogramma.There was no correlation between the checking time of T.dendrolimi and T.ostriniae and the body size,and the ending time of T.cacoeciae was not related to the body size,ovipositing time of T.ostriniae was significantly positively correlated with body size.When the body size was similar,the checking time,ovipositing time and ending time of T.dendrolimi were significantly shorter than the corresponding time used by the other three Trichogramma.The checking time of T.bilingensis was significantly shorter than that of T.cacoeciae.When HTL>175 μm,the ovipositing time of T.cacoeciae is significantly longer than that of the other three Trichogramma;when HTL<160 μm,the ovipositing time of T.cacoeciae is significantly longer than that of T.ostriniae;when HTL>160μm,the ending time of T.cacoeciae is significantly longer than that of the other three Trichogramma.The checking time of the larger individual T.bilingensis and T.cacoeciae was significantly shorter than the checking time of the smaller one,while the checking time of T.dendrolimi and T.ostriniae was not significantly different from that of the small in same species.The ovipositing time of the larger individual T.bilingensis,T.cacoeciae and T.dendrolimi was significantly shorter than the time of ovipositing when the individual was small,while the ovipositing time of the larger T.ostriniae was significantly longer than the time of ovipositing when the individual was small in same species.The ending time of the larger T.bilingensis,T.dendrolimi and T.ostriniae was significantly shorter than the time when the individual was small,while there was no significant difference between the ending time of T.cacoeciae and the ending time of the smaller.(3)There was a significant positive correlation between HTL of four Trichogramma species and egg load,egg load increases as the body size increases.When the individuals are similar in size,egg load of T.dendrolimi was significantly higher than the others.Except for individuals with HTL is 155-159.9 um,egg load of T.cacoeciae was significantly less than that of T.bilingensis and T.ostriniae,which were similar in size.Egg load of T.bilingensis was higher than that of T.ostriniae when HTL<160 um,while egg load of T.ostriniae was higher than that of T.bilingensis when HTL>160 um,and there were significant differences when HTL>165 um.(4)Longevity of four Trichogramma species were significantly positively correlated with HTL.The longevity of Trichogramma increased with the increase of individual size.There was no significant difference in male longevity of T.bilingensis,T.dendrolimi and T.ostriniae when HTL<160 um,longevity of T.ostriniae was significantly longer than that of T.bilingensis when HTL>165 um,but there was no significant difference between the longevity of T.ostriniae and that of T.dendrolimi.When the body size is similar,female’s longevity of T.bilingensis is significantly shorter than that of the other three Trichogramma species;when HTL<180 um,longevity of T.cacoeciae is longer than other three Trichogramma species;when HTL<160 um,longevity of T.dendrolimi is significantly longer than that of T.ostriniae,when HTL>175 um,longevity of T.dendrolimi is significantly shorter than that of T.ostriniae. |
