The codling moth Cydia pomonella(L.)is one of important crop pests across the world and a non-native pest in China.Understanding insect-plant chemical interactions improves our knowledge about insect-plant coevolution, and thus provides help with pest management program. This thesis research developed 12 kairomone lure preparations, which composed codling moth sex pheromone and plant volatiles. These preparations were tested in pear orchards in the Lower Baishi Airike in Awati county,Akesu city and the 33 rd farm in the 2nd Division in Kuerle. The main results and conclusions obtained from this study are summarized below:(1)The number of overwintering larva of C.pomonella and distribution positionOverwintering larva of C.pomonella is mainly distributed in the range of 0~100 cm on the trunk of pears. The overwintering larva percentage at 60~80 cm accounts for 38%of total larva, followed by 40~60cm.The overwintering larva percentage in total larva is 35%.The rest of overwintering larva is distributed at 20~40 cm and 80~100 cm.Therefore,it can be observed that codling moth prefers to overwinter at 40~80 cm of the trunk from the ground. The number of overwintering larva accounts for 73%of total larva. Moreover, overwintering larva survival rate is higher and it is more than 90%.The larva death rate is very low.(2)Dynamics of adults C.pomonella and G.molestaIn the Awati County,C.pomonella and G.molesta are 3 generations a year.In the pear orchard, the adults of the C.pomonella reached the peak of emergence in early May,early June and early August, and the 3rd generation adults reached the peak of emergence in early September. In the apple orchard,C.pomonella reached the peak of emergence in early June, early July and mid-August,and reached the peak of emergence in mid-September.The pear worms reached the peak of emergence in mid-May,late June,mid-July and mid-August.(3)Trap effect of lures with different prescriptions on C.pomonella and other fruit tree pest insects. The self-made formula lures have a significant difference with trap quantity of contrast core CK1.The trap quantity of the new-type formula "PF1" with sexual pheromone substances, the formulas "PF3" and"PF6" with pear ester for male C.pomonella is obviously more that contrast core and other formulas. The average trap quantity per 5 d is 2.78-5.72 moth/pcs.On the basis of containing sexual pheromone substances, the formula with pear ester not only increases trap quantity of male codling moth, but also collects female C.pomonella.The trap quantity is up to 22 moth.Furthermore, the formula with acetophenone and geraniol not only collects more codling moth, but also collects G.molesta and E.pyriella.The total trap quantity of G.molesta is up to 191 moth. The average trap quantity per 5 d is 2.94 moth/pcs.The formula "PF2" trap quantity with sexual pheromone substance reaches the maximum. The average trap quantity per 5 d is 1.44 moth/pcs.On the basis of sexual pheromone, the new-type lure is developed by adding pear ester and other multiple host plants. This not only improves trap quantity of male C.pomonella and G.molesta, but also can trap E.pyriella and the female C.pomonella.
