| There are few turfgrass species with strong adaptability in north China.To study the key seed production technology of festuca germplasm materials can provide important germplasm resources for greening in arid and cold regions.This study investigates the seed yield and its component factors of three festuca germplasm materials in Hohhot: Festuca dahurica‘Hunshandake’,F.rubra L.and F.F.rubra L.‘Maxima’ under different conditions of growth years,planting areas and plant row spacing,and discusses its seed germination characteristics,in order to provide basis for seed production and utilization of three festuca germplasm materials in Inner Mongolia.The main results are as follows:(1)Through the investigation of two experimental areas,it was found that the seed yield of three festuca germplasm materials in Hohhot was the highest in the third year of growth;the seed yield per plant of F.rubra L ‘Maxima’ was significantly higher than that of the other two materials;the plant row spacing suitable for seed production of Festuca dahurica ‘hunshanake’,F.rubra L.was respectively 30 cm and40cm;thousand kernel weight was the decisive factor for festuca seed yield.(2)For the germination rate of newly harvested mature seeds,F.rubra L.was only 37%,and could be released from dormancy naturally 3 months after ventilation storage at room temperature;Festuca dahurica ‘hunshanake’ and F.rubra L ‘Maxima’were respectively 70% and 90%,with relatively short period of dormancy.In the experiment of seed germination of three materials,it was found that it was better to take coconut brick soil,loam soil and other porous matrix as germination bed;light had no effect on germination,and the temperature suitable for germination was 21.2 ±2.7 ℃.the variable temperature is 15.8±2.7-21.2 ±2.7°C. |
