| Home gardening,as a new type of agriculture,has gradually become an indispensable part of the sustainable development of global agriculture.Soilless culture,as an advanced cultivation method,has been widely used in foreign countries.In this study,butter lettuce was taken as the research object,and four treatment groups were set under the same planting conditions.The effects of substrate culture and hydroponics on the growth and quality of cream lettuce were studied in nutrient solution culture control group,substrate culture control group,nutrient solution culture regular leaf picking group and substrate culture regular leaf picking group,and the effects of regular leaf picking under different cultivation methods on the quality of cream lettuce were also studied.The experimental results were as follows:(1)Among different cultivation methods in home gardening,the fresh weight(yield)of the ground part of cream lettuce in hydroponics was the largest,which was 14.36%higher than that in substrate culture.(2)In home gardening,the chlorophyll content,carotenoid content,leaf number and other growth indexes of hydroponic cream lettuce were increased by different cultivation methods,but the nitrate content of hydroponic cream lettuce was increased by 51.81%compared with that of substrate culture.The content of vitamin C and other nutritional indexes of butter lettuce cultured in substrate were higher than those of hydroponic butter lettuce,which indicated that the comprehensive quality of butter lettuce cultivated in substrate was higher.(3)Regular leaf picking in home gardening had no significant effect on the biomass of cream lettuce under different cultivation methods.The contents of vitamin C,carotenoid and nitrate were firstly increased and then decreased.The chlorophyll content of cream lettuce in hydroponic culture was higher than that in substrate culture at each leaf picking period,and the chlorophyll content showed a gradually increasing trend with the increase of picking times in both cultivation methods.The soluble sugar content of hydroponic cream lettuce showed a trend of decreasing first and then gradually increasing,and the soluble protein content showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing slightly.The soluble sugar content of substrate culture showed a trend of increasing gradually.The soluble protein content decreased first and then increased. |
