Zanthoxylum armatum is a plant of Zanthoxylum in Rutaceae, named for its narrow leaves like bamboo leaves. It is widely distributed in Japan,Korea,India and other places.Because of its strongly numb taste,it has been made into condiments, which has a broad market prospects.Because of its strongly numb taste,it has been made into condiments, which has a broad market prospects. But at present, because of its single fertilization mode and unreasonable cultivation management system, the yield growth of Zanthoxylum bungeanum is limited. In this study, the there years of Zanthoxylum armatum as the research object, the nutrient content of fine roots and soil available nutrients in different seasons, different soil layers, living fine roots biomass, dead fine roots biomass and total fine roots biomass were determined by orthogonal fertilization with three factors and four levels. The effects of different seasons, soil layers and fertilization methods on fine roots biomass, fine roots nutrients and soil available nutrients of Zanthoxylum armatum were studied in order to provide theoretical basis for efficient utilization of resources in the process of production and cultivation of Zanthoxylum armatum. The main results are as follows:(1)The biomass of living fine roots, dead fine roots and total fine roots varied significantly with seasons. The changes of biomass of living fine roots and total fine roots in the whole year are“double peaks type”.The biomass in spring was the highest>in autumn>in summer>in winter, and the biomass in spring was significantly different from that in other seasons(P<0.05).The annual variation of dead fine roots biomass was"single Valley type".The spring biomass was the highest, and then the value decreased. After it reaches its lowest value in autumn,it rises in winter.Compared with non-fertilization treatment, fertilization treatment can increase the biomass of living fine roots, dead fine roots and total fine roots in each season.Treatment 12(N2P3K1)and 10(N2P1K3)had better effects on biomass accumulation. The biomass of living fine roots, dead fine roots and total fine roots decreased with the deepening of soil layer. The biomass of0-20 cm soil layer was greater than that of 20-40 cm soil layer.(2)The regression model of the total fine roots biomass in 0-40 cm soil layer in spring was established. It was found that the effect of P>N>K fertilizer on the biomass was found in the quadratic regression equation. When the biomass of fine roots reached the maximum, the application rates of N,P and K fertilizers were 117.6-138.3 g/plant(average128.0 g/plant),P 33.5-70.9 g/plant(average 52.2 g/plant),K 100.2-165.4 g/plant(average132.8 g/plant).(3)The nutrient contents of fine roots in 0-20 cm soil layer were higher than those in20-40 cm soil layer(P<0.05).NPK fertilization could increase the contents of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total potassium in fine roots. The seasonal variation of fine roots nutrient is"double peak type",and the nutrient content reaches the highest value in autumn, followed by spring and the lowest in summer. The total nitrogen content of fine roots is greatly affected by nitrogen fertilizer. The higher the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied, the higher the content.Treatment 16(N3P3K0)had the highest fine roots content in the two soil layers. The content of total phosphorus in fine roots is related to the application rate of P fertilizer. The higher the application rate of P fertilizer, the higher the content of total phosphorus in fine roots. The content of total phosphorus in treatment 12(N2P3K1)is the highest. The total potassium content of fine roots is related to the application rate of K fertilizer. The more K fertilizer is applied, the greater the total potassium content of fine roots.(4)Available nutrients such as ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium all have surface aggregation. The content of available nutrients in 0-20 cm soil layer is higher than that in 20-40 cm soil layer(P<0.05).The change of soil available nutrients in each season showed a"double peak type".The content of soil available nutrients was in autumn>spring>winter>summer. The content of ammonium nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen in soil is greatly affected by the application rate of N fertilizer, the content of available phosphorus in soil is greatly affected by the application rate of P fertilizer, and the content of available potassium in soil is greatly affected by the application rate of K fertilizer. The biomass of living fine roots, dead fine roots and total fine roots were positively correlated with the contents of ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium(P<0.01).The contents of fine roots total nitrogen, total phosphorus and total potassium were positively correlated with the contents of soil ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, available phosphorus and available potassium(P<0.01).
