Curcuma hybrida ‘Red Touch’ belonging to the genus Curcuma, family Zingiberaceae,is introduced in recent years with high ornamental value. It is a multi-purpose flower for ornamental, medicinal and health care, which has broad application prospects. In this paper, the substrate cultivation, hydroponic technology, and cut flower post-harvest treatment were studied. These research could provide technical support for Curcuma hybrida ‘Red Touch’ as potted plants, garden plants, hydroponic flowers and cut flowers in the future. The results were as follows:1.Substrate cultivation researchIn the Guangzhou area, the entire growth period of Curcuma hybrida ‘Red Touch’after vegetative growth phase, the flowering phase maintains from July to October,Ornamental duration of single inflorescence from open field or potted can be more than 30days;Fertilizer treatment helped to increase rhizome production, high nitrogen compound fertilizer C was most conducive to the reproduction of the rhizome;3-4 conjoint rhizome was more suitable to be used as planting material than a single rhizome;the field rhizomes were supposed to be naturally stored underground and dormant over the winter, which should be dug out at least per 2 years. In this way,the better flowering quality and more rhizomes can be obtained;Soil diagnosis indicated that leaf yellowing and wilting of the Curcuma hybrida ‘Red Touch’ was due to low content of trace elements iron, organic matter, alkaline nitrogen and phosphorus content, and high soil p H.2、Hydroponic technology researchThe hydroponic nutrient screening showed that the ‘Dvordo’ was the best of the 5nutrient solutions. Its plant height, leaf, stem and flowering rate were superior to other treatment groups;Refrigerated 30-50 d is appropriate cold storage,it will promote rhizome germination, leaf growth, increase plant height and flowering rate, flowering rate can reach77.5%.It is superior to non-refrigerated treatment in physiological indexes such as water content, soluble sugar, soluble protein and proline content of rhizomes;Forced germination treatment indicated that by adding water once every 5 days could significantly increase the number of germination and the quality of the bud,it also significantly reduced the rot rate of the rhizome, increase flowering rate.It is superior to other water control treatments in physiological indexes such as water content, soluble sugar, soluble protein.3、Post-harvest preservation technique researchCut flowers of Curcuma hybrida ‘Red Touch’ should be harvested at the flowering stage of S2 when inflorescence were not fully in bloom and rehydration within 2 hours after harvest was the best.In this way the longest vase life and the best quality of flowering ornamental can be obtained;Research on pre-liquid screening indicated that the pretreatment with 100 mg/L STS has the best fresh-keeping effect. The preservation effect of compound pre-liquid 5% SUC+250 mg/L 8-HQC treatment was the second and significantly better than the single sucrose solution 5% SUC pretreatment. The preservative effects of these 3 treatments were significantly better than those of the control group;A single sucrose solution used as bottle preservation solution would shorten the vase life of Curcuma hybrida ‘Red Touch’,but the compound formula with sucrose and fungicide as bottle preservation solution had obvious preservation effect.
