Scientific and reasonable cultivation measure is the necessary condition to develop seed production potential of Elymus nutans Griseb.cv.Aba.In order to obtain the most suitable row spacing and sowing rate of E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba seed prodution,density experiments including 4 gradients of row spacing(30cm、45cm、60cm、75cm)and 4 gradients of sowing rate(18 kg/hm~2、22.5kg/hm~2、27 kg/hm~2、31.5kg/hm~2))were carried out,and the random block design was applied.Component including stem,leaf and spike and seed yield were determined,and gray relational analysis method was used.The purpose of study was to got the optimum seeding quantity and row spacing,which would provide theoretical basis and practical reference for E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba seed production.The main results were as follows:1.When the row spacing was less than 45cm,the increase of seeding quantity had a certain influence on the panicle traits of E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba,but the change rule was not obvious,and there was no difference in the number of florets(P>0.05).When row spacing was equal or more than45cm,the indexes of panicle trait increased first and then decreased with the increase of seeding rate.When the rate of sowing was less than 22.5kg/hm~2,various indexes of panicle traits increased with the increase of row spacing.When the rate of sowing was more than 22.5kg/hm~2,the number of seeds per reproductive branch increased first and then decreased.2.Row spacing and seeding rate had significant effects on stem-leaf traits of E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba.Low seeding rate(18 kg/hm~2~22.5kg/hm~2)and large row spacing(75 cm)were beneficial to increase the length,width and thickness of flag leaf and inverted second leaf.The seeding rate of22.5kg/hm~2and row spacing of 45cm were beneficial to increase the number of healthy leaves of E.nutans.3.Row spacing and seeding rate had significant effects on seed yield and thousand seed weight of E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba.When row spacing was less than 45cm,seed yield gradually decreased with the increase of seeding rate.When the row spacing was more than 45cm and less than 75cm,seed yield first increased and then decreased with the increase of seeding rate.When the row spacing was 45cm and seeding rate was 22.5kg/hm~2,seed yield was the highest with the value of 2718.82 kg/hm~2,which was significantly different from other treatments.When row spacing was 45cm and seeding rate was22.5kg/hm~2,or row spacing was 60cm and seeding rate was 27kg/hm~2,the thousand seed weight of E.nutans.4.According to the correlation analysis method in the gray system,the largest correlation coefficient was T6 treatment,which was closest to the standard treatment(r=0.8500).That’s to say,when sowing rate was 22.5 kg/hm~2and row spacing was 45cm,E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba obtained the highest seed yield,with the values of 2718.82kg/hm~2.In a word,seed production of E.nutans Griseb.cv.Aba should be established according to sowing rate of 22.5 kg/hm~2and row spacing of 45cm,which was suitable for popularization and application in the northwestern Sichuan.
