Coix L.could be use as food and medicine,known as "the cereal of health and life".This thesis were consisted with three parts:(1)Determine the reasonable combination of nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)and Potassium(K)and the effects of altitude on growth traits,yield and quality of coix in Fujian Province;(2)The effects of soaking time,temperature,seeding density and transplant days on the germination,yield and quality of coix sprouts.The SPAD,fresh-weight,dry-weight,antioxidant capacity,polysaccharides and lipids of seedlings were analysis with 5 cultivars of coix;(3)The effects of oven-drying,sunning-drying and shade-drying on bulk density,moisture contents and germination characteristics of coix seeds and the germination and physiological response at different aging time and air-dried time of Puyi-6 were also observed.(1)In order to determine the reasonable combination of nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)and potassium(K)on growth traits and yield of coix,this experiment was design in field with Puyi-6 in different nitrogen,P2O5,and KCl.The results show that the tillers,SPAD value,1000-grain weight and yield of coix would increase with the increase of NP level.Therefore,the top-dress of nitrogen would the chlorophyll content in the tillering stage and high levels of P can promote tillers,increase the 1000 grain weigh and improve the yield.The effects of altitude on the yield and qualities of coixwere investigated by the cultivar Puyi-6 with the total antioxidants capacity,the inhibition of hydroxyl radical capacity,the content of polysaccharide and lipids.The cultivar was planted at 4 positions,2 at Pucheng country(200m and 400m above sea level)and 2 at Zhounin country(700m and 890m above sea level)of Fujian province.The 4 positions have the same soil matrix,planting population,fertilizing levels and schedule,and the same cultivation conditions.The results were showed that the yield was significantly positively correlated with the altitude(P<0.05).But the total antioxidants capacity,the inhibition of hydroxyl radical capacity,the contents of polysaccharide and lipids were significantly negatively correlated with the altitude.It would be better to plant coix at a higher altitude in order to have high quality.(2)Effects of soaking time,temperature,seeding density and harvest days on the germination,yield and quality of coix sprouts were investigated in this paper with studying the water absorption rate,germination ratio,sprouts yield,total antioxidant capacity and inhibit the hydroxyl radical capacity.The highest economic product and quality could obtain when coix seeds were soaked for 24 hours,sowed at density of 2.4 kg/m2,grown at 30℃ and harvested after growing for 8 days.Barley green is the hotspot of health,but there were no reports on quality and availability of coix seedling.The SPAD,fresh-weight,dry-weight,antioxidant capacity,polysaccharides and lipids of coix seedlings were analysis with 5 cultivars.The results were showed that the SPAD,fresh-weigh,dry-weight,antioxidant capacity,polysaccharide and lipids of seedling were significant differences among 5coix cultivars.The Jinyi-1 has the characteristics of fast-growing and high dry-weight,except the low content of polysaccharide and could be used as one of coix sprouts.(3)These experiments were conducted to study the effects of oven-drying,sunning-drying and shade-drying on bulk density,moisture contents and germination characteristics of coix seeds with the cultivar of coix,Puyi-6.The results were showed that there were no significant differences on seed’s germination characteristics between oven-drying and sunning-drying but shade-drying,while the oven-drying and sunning-drying could increase the bulk density of coix seeds.The moisture contents of oven-drying and sunning-drying were consistently decreased in the experiments,but decreased slowly when dry in the shade-drying.With Puyi 6,the cultivar of coix,the germination and physiological response at different aging time and air-dried time of coix seed were be observed by method of artificial accelerated aging.The results were showed that with the prolonging of aging time and air-dried time,the germination energy and rate,germination index,sprout and root length,vigor index,fresh and dry weight,and chlorophyll contents were decreased significantly.Meanwhile,the content of malondialdehyde and electrical conductivity of coix werebe increased significantly with the prolonging of aging time and air-dried time.
