Alkaline paddy soil is characterized by a high pH,a poor physicochemical property,and a low rice production.By studying the effects of furfural residue and gypsum on physicochemical properties of Alkaline paddy soil and rice growth and yield,the experiment provides a theoretical basis for the Alkaline paddy soil improvement to raise the rice yield in the process of agricultural production practice.This experiment included indoor soil culture and outdoor potted rice.In this process,Longjing 9 was used as the experimental material.The alkaline paddy soil served as the test soil.And the furfural residue and gypsum were employed as the improver.Three levels of furfural residue and gypsum were set,respectively are Q0(0g·kg-1),Q1(25g·kg-1),Q2(50 g·kg-1),and G0(0 g·kg-1),G1(12.5 g·kg-1),G2(25g·kg-1),and then,a total of nine treatments were provided,respectively are Q0G0?Q1G0?Q2G0?Q0G1?Q1G1?Q2G1?Q0G2?Q1G2?Q2G2.The experimental results are as follows:1.Furfural residue and gypsum have a remarkable impact on the physical properties of Alkaline paddy soil.Compared with Q0G0(CK),the soil porosity of Q1G1 increased significantly,with an increase in the field capacity by 22.26%;Furfural residue and gypsum will decrease the pH of alkaline paddy soil.The PH of Q2G2 decreased to 6.95 from 9.01,while the EC value of indoor potted alkaline paddy soil decreased by 79.77%.2.Furfural residue and gypsum can promote a significant increase of the base cations content and the cation exchange capacity.For Q1G1 treatment,the exchangeable potassium ion content increased by1.17 g·kg-1,the exchangeable sodium content increased by 4.13 g·kg-1,and the exchangeable magnesium ion content increased by 0.43g·kg-1.Cation exchange capacity increased by 22.57 cmol/kg,which had the most marked effect.The contents of CO32-and HCO3-were significantly reduced and could not be detected in the treatment of Q1G1,Q2G1,Q0G2,Q1G2 and Q2G2 after 120 days.3.Furfural residue and gypsum can promote the growth of rice seedling,making the plant height,dry matter weight,root number and root dry weight of rice seedlings all increased significantly.Q1G1 plant height were 83.0%higher than those of Q0G0(CK);Q1G1 dry matter increased by 0.48g per plant;Q2G2 root number increased by 3 branches;Q0G2 root dry weight increased by 2.41%.4.Furfural residue and gypsum are beneficial to increase dry matter accumulation,rice yield and the thousand seed weight.Compared with Q0G0(CK),the dry matter accumulation of Q2G1 and Q0G1 increased by 65.84%and 50.07%respectively,the yield of Q1G1,Q2G1 and Q1G2 increased by 22.04%,25.79%and 25.42%respectively;and the thousand seed weight increased by 22.04%,25.04%and 24.85%respectively.The rice yield rate of Q1G1 was 7.27%higher than that of CK.And chalkiness rate of either treatment was lower than that of Q0G0 treatment.Comprehensive analysis shows that Q1G1 is better than other treatments in improving physicochemical properties of alkaline paddy soil,promoting rice growth and increasing yield.
