Abstract/Summary:
The focus of this thesis is laid on examining the influence of usability as well as user experience characteristics on the user performance of business web applications. Therefore, characteristics such as satisfaction, enjoyment and intuitiveness are examined as well as evaluation methods in form of standardized questionnaires such as the System Usability Scale (SUS), AttrakDiff2 and INTUI are applied in order to evaluate the mentioned elements. For measuring user performance, the Keystroke-Level Model (K-LM) and the MUSiC Performance Measurement Method are applied.;The study in this thesis is based on two different versions of a CMS system which have been modified in relation to literature based heuristics and standards concerning usability and UX. The goal has been that both versions were perceived as different concerning the design but not the functionality. Subsequently, test subjects needed to solve certain tasks on both system versions in a time span of two weeks. Moreover, each usability session has been followed by the mentioned questionnaires and a post-evaluation interview.;Concerning this study, no influence of satisfaction, enjoyment or intuitiveness on the user performance can be identified with certainty. Nevertheless, according to the interview sessions and the evaluated literature, tendencies appear. This includes factors such as acceptability and willingness to use. Subsequently, this study can state that satisfaction and enjoyment could promote an autonomous learning approach of users which causes a shorter learning period and a higher retention over time which has further influence on the overall user performance.
