Research On The Urbanization And High-quality Development In Yangtze River Economic Belt

At the 19th CPC National Congress in 2017,the important conclusion of "high-quality development" was clearly put forward.Until then,the.construction and development of all fields in China has been guided by "high-quality",and gradually adapted to the changes of the New Normal.As one of the regional key development strategies in the new stage of China,the Yangtze River Economic Belt must adhere to the concept of high-quality development,combine the " Five-point Strategy" with the five concepts for development,and do a good job as the national first economic zone.In 2016,the outline in development plan of Yangtze River economic belt clearly pointed out that to create a new development pattern of "one axis,two wings,three poles and many points",which means rely on the core cities and urban clusters to drive regional development.It can be seen that the regional high-quality development and new urbanization relies on each other.This paper focuses on the relationship between the two concepts,mainly studies the influence of urbanization on regional high-quality development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The main idea of this paper is about basic research,current research,theoretical research and empirical research.In the first part,this paper reviews the literature from four aspects:the concept of high-quality development,the evaluation process of regional development in China,the driving forces' transformation of high-quality development,urbanization and high-quality development.Then this paper analyzed the connotation of economic development and high-quality development,defined the concept of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and introduced some basic theories.In the second part,this paper used theories and data to explain the urbanization's process and current situation of 11 provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Then this paper build a high-quality development evaluation system,used entropy method to calculate the high-quality development scores of each province in 2000-2017,and used some method of data visualization such as ArcGIS to show the spatial and temporal differences in scores.In the third part,under the support of traditional theories,this paper discussed the impact of urbanization on the high-quality development of regional economy,ecology,society and coordination.In the last part,by choosing population urbanization and land urbanization as independent variables,high-quality development score as dependent variables,a spatial panel statistical analysis has been done from both dynamic and static paths by using statal4.0,which confirms the impact of urbanization on high-quality development.According to the above ideas,the research conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on the core idea of the five concepts for development and " Five-point Strategy",this paper construct an evaluation system consisting of four first-class indicators:high-quality economic development,high-quality environmental development,high-quality infrastructural and social development,and high-quality regional coordination.Then through the analysis of the data,it can be seen that the high-quality development level of 11 provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has been rising from 2000 to 2017 constantly,and we can also see the characteristics of high in the east and low in the west from the results.And the largest difference among 11 provinces is the economic and social development,and the smallest one is ecological development.(2)This paper sorted out the influence mechanism of urbanization on regional high-quality development,and analyzed the positive and negative paths dialectically.According to the analysis,it can be seen that in the early stage of urbanization,most of the influences are negative,while in the middle and late stage,most of them are positive.So with the development of new urbanization in China,its positive impact on regional high-quality development will become stronger and stronger.(3)Empirical analysis shows that urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has a significant positive impact on high-quality development:land urbanization have a positive impact of 0.0061 while population urbanization's progress leads to a 0.0081 growth.But we can see it in the decomposition effect that the population urbanization rate has a significant negative spillover effect on the surrounding areas,while the land urbanization rate has a positive spillover effect on the surrounding areas.
