Research On The Construction Of The Competency Model Of ZX's Overseas Project Managers

For the software industry,there are many factors influencing the final performance of a project,such as product quality,project execution process,execution team's comprehensive ability,customers' supporting,uncertainty of requirements and the speed of technical update iteration.Despite many factors,however,the greatest impact on a project is often the ability of the project manager himself.The overseas business division of ZX company is mainly engaged in the software R&D,delivery and service for overseas customers.After years of overseas project experience,it has relatively mature software products and accumulated certain project delivery process,management tools and project management experience.However,from the summary of overseas projects in recent years,we can see that there are still a large number of projects with low performance,such as:insufficient budget,serious cost overruns,low morale of project members,low customer satisfaction,and serious staff turnover.It is found that for every project with low performance,the management level of the project manager is the most critical factor affecting the whole project.However,for ZX company,there is no complete tool and method to evaluate the competence of project managers,as well as the selection and training of project managers.In order to solve the problems existing in the evaluation,selection and training of overseas project managers of ZX company,this paper will build the competence model of overseas project manager of ZX company,learn and study the concept,basic model and modeling method of competency.In-depth study of ZX company and the problems existing in the management of overseas project managers.Through literature review,expert interview,questionnaire survey and other methods,the competency model for overseas project managers of ZX company was constructed,and verified the model with samples.Finally,according to the established model,suggestions or tools are given for the competency evaluation,selection and cultivation of project managers.Through the study and research of the full text,the competency model of overseas project manager of ZX company was built.It is hoped that this model will play a certain role in the future project management of the company and help the enterprise to improve the project management ability and brand influence.Of course,there are also some problems for improvement in the research process,and these deficiencies are also the focus of my future study and breakthrough.
