CCTV traditional cultural programs are model of inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture.With Chinese Classical Poetry Quiz Show and The Readers,etc.making their appearance,CCTV traditional cultural programs came to the public scene and hotspot quickly after.The year 2017 was known as "the year of CCTV traditional cultural programs".Public aesthetic education is not only a demand in the progression of our times,but also a must for it.CCTV traditional cultural programs satisfy the needs of popularization in terms of communications means.Besides,they exhibit a tendency of popularization and gradually achieve popularization in their development process.Therefore,their practices in public aesthetic education should be worth investigation in depth.This thesis,taking CCTV traditional cultural programs as its research object,presents an analysis and exploration of the practices of public aesthetic education using relevant theories of aesthetics,culture,pedagogy and communication,etc.This thesis falls into 3 parts:the introduction,body and conclusion.The body includes 4 chapters.In the introduction,the concepts of traditional cultural programs and public aesthetic education are firstly defined.Then the research significance,methods and status quo are outlined.In the first chapter,an overview of the development of CCTV traditional cultural programs is given.It is suggested that the general trend of Chinese television career is from elites to the public,which is also the development of CCTV traditional cultural programs.The early times,CCTV traditional cultural programs belonged to elites,but became popularized when faced with the "narrow audience" issue.In the second chapter,the cultural identity,characteristics and value of CCTV traditional cultural programs are explored,and the relationship between the programs and public aesthetic education examined.It is proposed that traditional cultural programs are popular culture,characterized by popularity,commodification,entertainment,everydayness,legacy,public benefits and instructiveness,etc.,with values in cultural inheritance,social education,artistic aesthetics and public aesthetic education,etc.It is advised that in terms of public aesthetic education,cultural programs feature spontaneity,mediality,procedurality and interests,etc.In the third chapter,the bi-directional relationship between traditional cultural programs and public aesthetic education is discussed.It is believed that traditional cultural programs are the methods and means to achieve public aesthetic education,which serves as an aim of traditional cultural programs.In other words,public aesthetic education is an objective itself.The objective of public aesthetic education is the comprehensive improvement of the public in aesthetic judgment,taste,ideal and creativity,etc.The two aspects of public aesthetic education are ways and means for each other.Hence,public aesthetic education is the way to that improvement,and the means of refining mass media.In chapter four,a deep reflection is made on the public aesthetic education of traditional cultural programs.It is indicated that the low TV ratings is correlated with the dilemma public aesthetic education stands in.However,rather than that,a reflection should be made on the innovation of traditional cultural programs and their public aesthetic education.It is held that efforts should be directed to the innovation of program contents,audience,narration and media communication,etc.,which can be a new inspiration for the innovation of public aesthetic education.Public aesthetic education requires a sound environment of mass media,which calls for efforts from multiple aspects.In the conclusion,it is suggested that for traditional cultural programs,the presence of audience is needed by their public aesthetic education ultimately,for the objective of public aesthetic education is the comprehensive development of people.
