The public library is an important cultural service and social education institution in China.In recent years,it has carried out a variety of children's reading promotion activities,covering speech contests,parent-child reading,knowledge lectures,story meetings and so on,effectively improving children's participation in reading.With the enthusiasm and initiative for taking part in the activities,more and more children enter the library and participate in reading activities,which lays a good foundation for cultivating children's reading interest and reading habits,most important of all,it helps to push national reading plan and realize lifelong learning goals.Although the current situation of children's reading promotion activities in public libraries is optimistic,there are still some gaps with developed countries in terms of specific event planning.Some children's reading and promotion activities in public libraries still can not satisfy children's reading needs and benefit psychological development.The shortcoming has also affected the actual effect of reading promotion activities.This essay gives a deep research on the relevant theories of psychology,and applies the theory of psychology to children's reading promotion activities in public libraries.Based on children's cognitive development,psychological development and reading needs,it provides theoretical support and foundation for children's reading promotion activities.Combined with the relevant literature of children's reading in public libraries and the actual situation of children's reading,it actively construct the public library children's reading promotion system under the perspective of psychology,and explain the system in detail.At the same time,through the questionnaire survey in the field,the paper analyzes the development and problems of children's reading promotion activities in public libraries from the perspective of psychology,and proposes corresponding improvement suggestions,in order to provide useful benefits for children's reading promotion activities in public libraries in China.
