Along with the popularization and application of 4G technology and research of 5G technology,stability and transmitting speed of wireless communication were emphasized to some extent.It is the table and high-speed transmitting performance that makes our life be closely bound up with wireless communication.At the meantime,much higher requirements of research and design on base station antenna needs to be satisfied in terms of wireless communication with high quality.Better performances of base station antenna like wider broadband,higher gain and higher efficiency are needed in the new generation of communication system,as well as the properties like simple structure,low cost and tiny volume.Aiming at the requirements of modern wireless communication system,two kinds of magneto-electric dipole antenna with wideband and high gain are designed in this paper,which are:1.Design of a novel fishtail-shaped broadband high gain magneto-electric dipole antenna.Loading the T-shaped array of metamaterial elements on the dielectric substrate and using a rectangular box-shaped reflector,instead of a planar reflector.This antenna achieved a wide impedance bandwidth of 54%(S11<-10dB)from the frequency of 2.36 GHz to 4.08 GHz.The highest gain of the proposed antenna is 11.07dB and the lowest gain is 6.67dB between 2GHz-3.5GHz.This antenna has the nearly identical E-and H-plane patterns,low backlobe radiation and large front-to-back ratios,so this antenna have good radiation characteristics.2.Design a novel high gain magneto-electric dipole antenna.Using a rectangular box-shaped reflector instead of a planar reflector and etching a convex slot on the electric dipole.This antenna achieved a wide impedance bandwidth of 60%(S11<-10dB)from the frequency of 1.64GHz to 3.04 GHz,the gain of the proposed antenna is about 8.9dB ranging from 8.6dB-9.3dB.This antenna has the nearly identical E-and H-plane patterns,low backlobe radiation,large front-to-back ratios and large major lobe efficiency,so this antenna have good radiation characteristics.
