As an impressive pearl in Chinese culture,Chinese Traditional Medicine has been shining for thousands of years due to its mature theoretical foundation and practical experience.With the comprehensive implement of Belt and Road Initiative,Traditional Chinese Medicine has played a more important role in gaining greater attention from home and abroad and displaying the national soft strength worldwide.In some countries,it has been announced officially to be the complementary and alternative medicine to serve the mass and won their extensive support.We witness a best opportunity for Chinese Traditional Medicine to “Go Global” with indispensable role of translation in connecting different cultures.This report records the fundamental work from preparation to proofreading and mainly focuses on the analysis of typical examples and practical strategies in part translation of Chinese Internal Medicine.Characterized by accuracy,fidelity and concision,the translation shall pass the correct information to readers from original text's informative essence.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory,the translation is carried out through appropriate translation methods including transliteration,literal translation,structural reorganization,amplification and omission to conquer the difficulty in TCM translation.This report elaborates the development of TCM and a comparative study on the textbooks of Chinese Internal Medicine in first chapter and reviews the whole translation from the perspective of background introduction,translation process,example analysis and conclusion in the next four chapters.The second chapter introduces task background,original text style and significance of this translation.The third chapter records the whole process of translation including preparation,translation and proofreading.The fourth chapter mainly gives a full analysis of typical examples in TCM translation by Skopos theory.The last chapter concludes the experience from this translation and expectation for TCM translation in the future.
