Choi Myeongik(1903-?)It was a modern Korean novelist in the 1930s,along with Park tae-won and Lee sang.In the 1930s,South Korea flouts modernism literature, and psychological novels as one of its forms of expression become popular.Psychological novels emphasize on shaping the inner world of the characters and directly express the writer's psychological consciousness and feelings of the social environment through the characters in the works. It does not stop at evaluating historical and real social life, but indirectly reflects social life through the protagonist's emotions and consciousness,as well as psychological dynamics.Choi Myeongik,a writer, has made great achievements in modern Korean literature, especially in psychological novels. His works, with a realistic approach, delicately describe the self-consciousness of intellectuals under the social background of oppression after Korea became a colony, revealing their gloomy life, urban decadence and spiritual hesitation.Choi Myeongik compared to the writer is not a prolific writer, from the altar to before the end of world war ii has published "rain road,"no personality person","inverse said","spring and a new road","lungfish people","the heart lines","Tom,dick and harryr" 7 short stories, and after the liberation of political stance,he has not been a lot of data mining,so for Choi Myeongik research is not much.Much of it has focused on debates about modernity and self-consciousness.Most of the studies using psychoanalytic criticism are still limited to works, criticizing the phenomenon of contemporary intellectuals'depression and self-abandonment under the oppression of society. This paper first elaborates the core content of psychoanalytic theory and psychoanalytic criticism method, and then from the perspective of psychoanalytic theory, analyzes the reasons for the formation of Choi Myeongik's personality and the reflection of her personality in her works from the perspective of her personal growth and living environment to her study experience. Most of the protagonists in Choi Myeongik's works are intellectuals.Under the oppression of Japanese militarism, modernization and other social backgrounds, these intellectuals seem to be decadent and powerless, but subconsciously they do not give up the exploration of themselves. They fight against the reality in the repression, seek the way out of the society, and die.To sum up,this paper applies the method of psychoanalysis to analyze the writer's consciousness hidden in the text in light of the plot development of Choi Myeongik's short stories before the liberation of South Korea, the characters'images and behaviors in the works, and the author's life experience, according to the previous research on Choi Myeongik.
