On The Poetry Creation Of The Four Talents In Wuzhong

The four geniuses in Wuzhong area,are Tang Yin,Zhu Yunming,Wen Zhengming and Xu Zhenqing who were active in the Wuzhong area in the middle and late period of the Ming Dynasty.Their poems are close to daily life,or elegant,or vulgar,or smooth and natural,or sorrowful and sad,reflecting the characteristics of coexistence of tradition and openness,and have a high literary value.At present,most scholars' studies on the poems of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area focus on individuals while there are few studies on the integrity of their poems.As a consequence,the poetry creation of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area are further studied in this paper on the basis of the existing research.The introduction part mainly discusses the purpose,significance,research status,research ideas and innovation points of this topic.Currently,the study on the four geniuses in Wuzhong area by the academic circles centers on their individual poetry creation,but less on them as a whole.Yet the research on the integrity of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area pays more attention to the similarities,while ignoring the differences between them.Starting from the holistic study of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area,not only the common factors in their poetry creation are explored,but also the differences are concerned.Chapter one summarizes the poetry creation background of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area.Their poetry creation has the unique background condition,the family origin,the region factor,the time background,the literature overviews and so on,which are all its poetry creation premise.Chapter two discusses the cultural characteristics of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area in categories.The cultural characteristics of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area are analyzed from three aspects: the environmental atmosphere in the South Yangtze River regions,the historical culture and the influence of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.It points out that they are both passionate and restrained;they have both chivalrous spirit and literary temperament and they are bothaggressive and tranquil,unexpected and calm.Chapter three discusses the literary thoughts of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area.The four geniuses attach importance to emotion and advocate trueness,and they propose to express their thoughts and feelings freely,no matter it is good or bad.They praise the ancient text,trying to learn the writing style of the ancients,and changing the weak phenomenon of poetry.At the same time,they model the ancients while do not rigidly adhere to the ancients,paying attention to innovation.Chapter four classifies the subject matter and content of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area.Their poetry is rich in content,including excursions,pastimes,random thoughts and writings on women.Chapter five analyzes the artistic taste of the poems of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area.The enjoyment of the secular life and the contact with the ordinary townsfolk make the poems of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area have the tendency of secularization.The nurture of the environment in Jiangnan region,and the identity of Jiangnan literati have made the poetry of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area fresh and natural.Chapter six discusses the acceptance of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area to the previous generation.The poetry of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area have widely absorbed the essence of the poets of previous generations.Taking Tao Yuanming and Li Po,who are the most representative,for example,they have exerted an influence on the personalities,thoughts,and poetry creation of the four geniuses in Wuzhong area.
