Objective:To explore the effect of music meditation on anxiety symptoms, muscle tension, itching, skin lesion and quality of life for patients with psoriasis vulgaris and anxiety. Methods:From December,2016 to November,2017,70 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and anxiety were selected in a top three hospital in Beijing. The patients were divided into two groups-exprimental group(35 cases)and control group(35 cases). On the basis of routine treatment and nursing, the patients in exprimental group received music meditation.Based on the professional book of music meditation, the researcher compiled the first draft of "the implementation program of music meditation for patients with psoriasis vulgaris and anxiety",and modified the program through expert meeting and formed the final draft of the program. Then, according to this program,3 music meditators were trained, and then the music meditators carried out music meditation on the patients. The music meditators time was from 13:00 to 14:00 or from 20:00 to 21:00 for 14 days, once a day,40 to 50 minutes a time. The patients in control group received routine treatment and nursing. Before intervention and 14 days after intervention, anxiety symptoms, muscle tension degree, itching degree, psoriasis area and severity, quality of life were evaluated by Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),biofeedback instrument,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI)and Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI).Results:(1)68 cases completed the study, including 34 cases in the experimental group and 34 cases in the control group. There was no difference in the scores of SAS between the two groups before intervention. After two weeks intervention, the mean score of SAS in the experimental group was(49.44±4.44),and it was lower than the contemporaneous mean in control group(50.65±4.60),and the difference was significant. For both groups, there were significant differences in the scores of SAS before and after the intervention(P<0.05).(2)There was no difference in the scores of biofeedback instrument between the two groups before intervention. After two weeks intervention, the mean score of biofeedback instrument in the experimental group was(11.29±2.44),and it was lower than the contemporaneous mean in control group(13.26±1.71).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the score of biofeedback instrument in the experimental group was lower than that before intervention, and the difference as statistically significant. There was no significant difference in the control group before and after the intervention(P>0.05)(3)There was no difference in the scores of VAS between the two groups before intervention. After two weeks intervention, the mean score of VAS in the experimental group was(1.3 8±1.30),and it was lower than the contemporaneous mean in control group(2.53±1.64).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The mean score of VAS of patients with serious itching symptoms in the experimental group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)There was no difference in the scores of PASI between the two groups before intervention. After two weeks intervention, the mean score of PASI in the experimental group was(3.18±2.40),and in control group was(4.56±3.47).There was no statistically significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).The scores of both two groups after intervention were lower than those before intervention, and the differences were significant(P<0.05).The mean score of PASI of patients with serious skin symptoms in the experimental group was lower than that in control group and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)There was no difference in the scores of DLQI between the two groups before intervention. After two weeks intervention, the mean score of DLQI in the experimental group was(9.03±2.69)and in control group was(10.47±3.99).There was no statistically significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).For both groups, the scores of DLQI after intervention were lower than those before intervention, and the differences were significant.Conclusions:Two-week music meditation can improve anxiety symptoms and muscle tension of patients with psoriasis vulgaris and anxiety, and promote physical relaxation.Meanwhile, the improvement of itching symptoms is more obvious. However, music meditation does not alleviate the extent of skin lesions and improve the quality of life in the patients.Music Meditation,a combination of music and meditation, can relieve anxiety and alleviate symptoms in the patients with psoriasis vulgaris and anxiety. The findings provide a safe, effective and new approach to the mental nursing of the patients with psychosomatic dermatosis, and it is worth applying in this field.
