Purpose:Based On the effect evaluation the of traditional Chinese medicine treatment of adult randomized controlled trial(RCT)of antibiotic associated diarrhea, evaluating objectively the advantage of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of adult antibiotic associated diarrhea, for adults of antibiotic associated diarrhea.Aim to provide a high-level evidence.Material and method:By the Cochrane handbook system evaluation method, retrieving the study of traditional Chinese medicine and treatment of Antibiotic-associated diarrhea in CNKI,Wangfang data,CBM,VIP database and The Cochrane library, and the main indicators include:cure rate, efficiency, observation index: symptom score of diarrhea, number of defecate and its change of character. Finally, doing the accurate meta-analysis of the cure rate and efficiency of traditional Chinese medicine and treatment of Antibiotic-associated diarrhea with Rev Man 5.3 software. Results: 1.The total effective rate of Chinese medicine in the treatment of AAD is significantly different from that of the control group of western medicine: RR=1.25,and its 95% confidence interval is [1.16,1.35].After Z test,Z=5.80,P < 0.00001.Subgroup analysis: compared with the western medicine control group including probiotics,The total effective rate of TCM treatment of AAD is better, whether stopping using the original antibiotics or not.But the group stopping using the original antibiotics is more effective: RR = 1.30,95% confidence interval [1.18,1.43],checked by Z,Z = 5.16,P < 0.00001;RR(not stop)=1.20,and its 95% confidence interval was [1.07,1.36].After Z test,Z=3.03,P=0.002.2.The cure rate of AAD treated by traditional Chinese medicine is significantly different from that of the control group of western medicine: RR=1.70,and its 95% confidence interval is [1.36,2.14].After Z test,Z=4.59,P < 0.00001.Subgroup analysis: The difference of cure rate between stopping using the original antibiotics group and not stopping using antibiotics group is statistically significant,RR(stop antibiotics)= 1.77,95% confidence interal [1.36,2.29],checked by Z,Z = 4.27,P < 0.0001;RR(not stop)=1.57,and its 95% confidence interval was [1.01,2.45].After Z test,Z=1.98,P=0.05.3.Three literatures reported that there was no statistically significant difference between TCM treatment group and western medicine group in onset time [Z=1.34,P=0.18].4.Three literatures reported that there was significant difference between TCM treatment group and western medicine group in patients number of diarrhea after treatment, and the TCM treatment group is better,[Z=3.36,P=0.0003].Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine is more effective for antibiotic associated diarrhea in adults.Analyzed 11 literatures, there were 4 literatures [5,6,8,12] improved Jadad score of 4 points, and the other literatures were considered less than three points. There were no distribution of hidden and blind method.Hope more high-quality RCT articles’ coming out.
