Objective:To assess the effects and safety of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of NBD after SCI.Methods:We searched CBM,WanFang database,CNKI,VIP,CENTRAL,MEDLINE,EMbase for randomized controlled trails(RCTs)and quasi-randomized controlled trails(Q-RCTs)involving Traditional Chinese Medicine for NBD after SCI.According to the established inclusion and exclusion criteria,we included in the relevant literature.Two reviewers extracted information and cross check,when discussed in case of disagreement that should ask the third party consultation.Using RevMan5.3.0software to evaluate the quality and analyze the data of the included researches.Using GRADE(version 3.6)software to evaluate the evidence quality of the evidences.Results:A total of 417 relevant literatures was retrieved,finally 12 articles were included,795 cases were reported to the Traditional Chinese Medicine group and the control group.The methodological quality of trials was generally low.The data were analyzed by Meta-analysis and qualitative analysis.Finally,we concluded 3Meta-analysis and 7 qualitative analysis of the efficacy while 1 qualitative analysis of the safety.Conclusions:This study shows that based on the conventional rehabilitation &nursing,combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine in improving the symptoms of intestinal symptoms,psychological status and the quality of life in patients with neurogenic bowel dysfunction after spinal cord injury would be with more advantages.Systematic review,as secondary studies,is greatly affected by the quality of the original literature and the above conclusions need to be further verified by high quality basic and clinical studies.
