Research On The Impact Of Innovation On The Development Of Livelihood In Shanghai Districts

The impact of technological innovation on economic development has attracted much attention,and many quantitative research has also made significant progress in this field.However,less attention was paid to the role of technological innovation in the development of livelihood,especially the lack of quantitative research.While in 2007,China put forward the concept of "livelihood science and technology",and the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized that the development of science and technology should focus on livelihood,so that people can enjoy the achievements of innovation.Under this background,based on quantitative analysis,it is of great value to discuss the mechanism of how technology affects livelihood.This paper analyze show the scientific and technological innovation affects the development of livelihood,and combining the relevant data of Shanghai and its districts,discusses the way that innovation promotes the livelihood and its problems in Shanghai,which in order to provide a useful reference for the development of "livelihood science and technology".This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is introduction,mainly elaborating the background,significances,contents,methods and the innovation of this paper.The second chapter is literature review,focusing on the impact of innovation on regional economic development and social development,providing the basis for the following mechanism analysis.The third chapter is the mechanism analysis,which analyzes the reasons why science and technology innovation can improve livelihood and the way how innovation affects livelihood.The forth chapter introduces the objects,model and data sources of the empirical study.The fifth chapter introduces the results of empirical studies,including the innovation input and output related to the livelihood in Shanghai,the way how innovation improves livelihood in different levels,and the differences in the impact of innovation on the development of livelihood among Shanghai districts.The last chapter is the conclusion and the revelation.Based on the existing research results and the mechanism analysis of innovation affecting livelihood,this paper holds that the impact of innovation on the livelihood is mainly embodied in living standards,residents' quality,environmental quality and public safety.The improvement of living standards and the residents' quality is mainly due to the externality of innovation activities,while the improvement of environmental quality and public security is primarily based on the technological progress in the livelihood science and technology industry.The results of empirical studies at both levels show that technological innovation has a significant positive effect on the improvement of livelihood.That's to say,the living standard is largely influenced by regional innovation,the residents' quality is largely influenced by innovation investment,and the improvement of environmental quality and public safety are mainly affected by the innovation output of livelihood science and technology industry.Besides,the effects of innovation on livelihood,at district-county scale,shows obvious regional differences.Considering the geospatial factors,this paper finds that living standards,environmental quality and public safety exert spatial effects that is,it will be affected by innovation activities in other regions.To be specific,the improvement of living standards is the result of co-innovation inside and outside region,while the improvement of environmental quality and public safety mainly comes from the spillover of other regions' innovative achievements in the livelihood science and technology industry.Finally,based on theoretical and empirical analysis,this paper puts forward some recommendations for government,enterprises and research institutions to improve the role of “livelihood science and technology”.
