The ear of "service economy" and innovation-oriented "knowledge economy" has become,the important role of service industry on economic growth is more and more obvious.At the same time,globalization is pushing innovation process to become more and more open.Now there is a generally accepted wisdom that innovation comes from collaboration and knowledge across organizational boundaries,especially in Knowledge Intensive Business Services(KIBS)firms,which need to span all kinds of boundaries to acquire the external knowledge.Introducing the concept of organizational boundaries spanning competence,this paper studies the components of organizational boundaries spanning competence and its impact on knowledge integration and open service innovation.This paper has three main objectives:Firstly,by summarizing predecessors' research results,this paper analyzes the components of organizational boundaries spanning competence;secondly,this paper deeply discusses the components of organizational boundaries spanning competence's influence on the open service innovation,and then carries out empirical research;thirdly,this paper analyzes the mediating role of knowledge integration by SEM analysis to verify whether the mediation effect is significantly,and investigate the direct and indirect effects of independent variable and intervening variable to dependent variable,namely open service innovation and make a comparative analysis on them.Specifically,the main research results of this paper are as follows:Firstly,based on the method of literature analysis and single case analysis,this paper analyzes the concept of organizational boundaries spanning competence,namely from IT capability,network competence and absorptive capacity three components to depict organizational boundaries spanning competence.Secondely,bringing in knowledge integration as the mediator,this paper discusses the internal mechanism of the organizational boundaries spanning competence's influence on open service innovation in KIBS firms.Besides,based on the previous related research achievements,this paper constructs the conceptual model of the five variables.Thirdly,the research object of this paper is KIBS enterprises,this paper uses data from a survey of 224 KIBS enterprises and this paper uses SPSS20.0 and AMOS20.0 to complete empirical analysis.Using statistical analysis methods,such as factor analysis,correlation analysis and structural equation model,this paper explores the path of the relationship between IT capability,network competence and absorptive capacity,knowledge integration and open service innovation successfully.This paper finds that IT capability has significant positive influence on the open service innovation;network competence and absorptive capacity don't have significant direct impact on service innovation,but through the intermediary variables knowledge integration these independent variables make influence on service innovation.The results of this paper is helpful to enrich the understanding of the open service innovation and then provide the certain reference value to our country's KIBS enterprise to better implement open service innovation.
