In 2017,Trump had become the President of The United States,following that the trade war between China and America escalated.At the same time,as the representative papers of two countries,The People's Daily and The Wall Street Journal have reported a lot on it.The author made out two sample databases from CNKI and EBSCO respectively,deciding to analyze two medias with the method proposed by Taiwan communication scholar Shifan Wang,To be specific,this method is composed of form category and content category.For the first one,the author analyses intensity category,namely,the frequency of news elements,the narrative form as well as the communication form.For another,the author focuses on their topics,sources and reporting direction.After a detailed comparison,a main conclusion comes out,The People's Daily performs its duty as the Chinese party newspaper,and defends the rights and interests of China,While The Wall Street Journal is full of opinions from a variety of interest groups,on the premise of safeguarding national interests.Meanwhile,five typical traits of two medias are concluded respectively and three reasons are proposed too.
