In recent years, with the continuous development of "the belt and road initiative" construction, the strategic significance of South Asia to China has been significantly enhanced. It is necessary for us to examine the media information exchange between China and South Asian countries in the new international situation and communication environment.Media framework research is an effective means to reflect the media ideology and value judgment basis. This paper attempts to explore the encoding method and cognitive attitude of the mainstream media in South Asia and the three countries through the framework research. To find out the problems in its reports and explore ways to deal with them,so as to further bridge the communication gap and enhance the strategic mutual trust, exchange and integration with South Asia.In this paper,India,Pakistan and Nepal are selected as the representative countries in South Asia, and the most influential mainstream English newspapers in the three countries are selected as the research objects. In the new media communication environment, the influence of traditional paper media is gradually declining, while the global emerging Internet media platform represented by Facebook has become a more practical research channel with its higher user share and communication influence.Based on this, this paper specifically chooses the Facebook accounts of the three major English newspapers,India's Times of India,Pakistan's Dawn and Nepal's Himalayan Times,as the research objects, and uses Python Requests to collect data on the Facebook public pages of the three major newspapers. As of December 2018,2416 original samples have been collected, with low correlation and invalid samples removed, and 1239 valid samples for this study have been finally determined.Based on the high, medium and low level frame structure theory put forward by the scholar Zang Guoren in combination with the frame theory, this paper makes a quantitative analysis of his Chinarelated reports by using the text analysis method, and sums up the characteristics of their respective report frames.Based on the characteristics of the framework, the Internet communication strategy for South Asia is explored to safeguard the national image and promote cross-cultural communication. The study found that the three newspapers have obvious differences in their reporting frameworks. The Times of India presents a reporting framework of threats and doubts,Dawn presents a reporting framework of cooperation and win-win,and Himalayan Times presents a reporting framework of neutrality and wait-and-see.This paper puts forward the following suggestions to the mainstream media in China on the network publicity in South Asia: attach importance to the South Asian dialogue and launch a new type of public diplomacy.Deepen media integration and build international new media cluster.Changing the mode of content production and presentation and reshaping the discourse system of external communication.Building internationalized and specialized all-media talents.Establishing a safe and comprehensive international communication guarantee mechanism;Take culture as a link to promote common feelings.
