This article takes the star romance event as a clue to analyze the phenomenon of media spectacle.The spectacle formed by the star romance event has strong attraction to the public's sight,with its large scale,complicated process and unique significance.The public consumption of star romance events has important research value for researchers to explore the collusion between media spectacle and consumerism.This article takes China's social reality as the starting point,respects the national conditions,analyzes how the public consumes star romance events,and sees through the real significance of the spectacle of star romance events.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to analyze the consumerism essence and social problems reflected behind the star romance,analyze the ideological changes in the economic society,explore the new laws and new trends in the development of media culture,better serve the socialist society,provide good theoretical support for the development of China's media industry,and thus promote the construction of a modern media power with Chinese characteristics.In this study,the spectacle theory is applied.First,the popularity and representation of the spectacle of star romance events are discussed,and the research objects are restored with cases.Secondly,from the perspective of the background of the spectacle of star romance,it expounds the potential social conflict elements,the centralized and in-depth reports of the media,and the internal operation mechanism of public carnival participation.By using the methods of questionnaire and in-depth interview,this paper analyzes that the essence of the construction of star romance spectacle is consumerism,and then analyzes consumerism in spectacle from five aspects:body,privacy,symbol,carnival and illusion.This study holds that,first of all,the spectacle of star romance is a common phenomenon in society on the surface,but in essence it is theproduct of cultural development of the game between different subjects' power and interests.Behind it lies the complex social mentality and ideology contained in the current media society,which has important constructive significance.Secondly,the author explores and analyzes the way to realize the spectacle of star romance from the perspective of public identification and public sharing,and discusses the important role played by the public in identification and communication in the process of the spectacle of star romance.Finally,through deep reflection on the collusion between media spectacle and consumerism formed by star romance,the author proposes new solutions and development paths for the bottlenecks and challenges encountered in the spectacle of current news events.
