The Ritual View Of Communication

As an important section of the Pearl River system,the You River runs through the Dashi slope and Xiaoshi slope of the suburb of Nanning,nurture the descendant of the Shijian who lived in the Dashi slope and Xiaoshi slope for generations.Rich soil,unique clan culture,and profound family history created a unique festival for the descendants of Shi Jian,"The19th day of September in the lunar calendar" Festival Ceremony.It is an important festival of the descendants of Shi Jian for sacrificial purpose to their ancestor Shi Jian who was the famous scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty.And it is one of the largest and most attended group gatherings of the year in Dashi slope and Xiaoshi slope.This study is based on the analysis of existing research,using the method of participatory observations and Semi-structured Interviews,from the viewpoint of ritual view of communication,the specific "The19th day of September in the lunar calendar" festival ceremony of the descendants of Shi Jian was regarded as a sacred ceremony jointly participated by and recognized by the Shi Clan group.From the perspective of ritual view of communication,the significance of this sacred ceremony is not to convey certain information to the participants,and pay more attention to building a solid and meaningful cultural world through this ceremony.This study will analyze how the "September 19" festival ceremony of the descendants of Shi Jian existed as a kind of communication ritual,and as a kind of communication ritual,how to maintain the descendants of Shijian ethnic groups.From the perspective of James W.Carey's ritual view of communication,combining the "syllable and diachronic" put forward by Ferdinand de Saussure and Benedict Anderson's theory of "imaginary community",opening a new perspective for the study of clan culture.Through the presentation of the dissemination process of the "September 19th" festival ceremony of the descendants of Shi Jian,the significance of the clan festival ceremonies is analyzed and interpreted.I hope that with the experience of the study of the "September 19th" festival ceremony of the descendants of Shi Jian,it will provide some inspiration for the investigation of the traditional culture of other clan.
