In order to cope with the fast-growing demands of network services,SDN is gradually being widely used due to the characteristics of centralized management, separation of data plane and control plane, and programmability. With the rapid development of the mobile Internet, wireless network access has become the mainstream network access method. But the mobility management problem which have great impact on the users' experience has not been solved well.Since SDN can facilitate network programmability and make the management takes easier,in this thesis,we study SDN-based mobility management technology. This thesis mainly completes the following works:(1)A new method for predicting access points in the network is proposed. We divide the access point prediction scheme into two steps: location prediction and access point selection. In location prediction phase,Markov model is used to predict the user's next location, and AP quality assessment model is used to select the best access point.Simulation results show that the proposed access point prediction method can reduce delay in SDN mobility management, and can maintain a high bandwidth utilization rate even when a large amount of user access.(2)A novel handover management scheme based on SDN is designed. And then we implement the mobility management modules in the Mininet. The mobility management modules include: network parameter awareness, network traffic monitoring, next access point prediction, prehandover, and the triggering and execution of handover. Finally, simulation experiments were conducted in the Mininet environment. From the simulation results,we can find that the proposed mobility management scheme has significant improvement on the handover delay.
