In the past ten years,the Internet has been developing rapidly,but the increasing scale of network,exploding user traffic and endless innovative applications have brought great challenges to the existing network architecture.It becomes more and more difficult to deploy the network configuration and maintain the existing network,and the software defines the network(SDN),with its data plane and control plane decoupling,programmable,open interface can effectively improve the ability of network deployment and global control,which will make SDN to be a critical architecture in the future network.In the SDN architecture,more and more innovative applications need to transmit active forwarding rules through the control plane,and most of these forwarding rules are user-defined.However,there are some shortcomings when using OpenFlow to transmit and configure on the forwarding palne: first,the management and control ability of the control plane to the user-defined forwarding rules is not strong.It is difficult to extend OpenFlow protocol flexibly according to the needs of users.The second is that the data plane is complex to realize the user-defined requirements,and the third is that there is no effective authentication operation between the application layer and the control layer to ensure the correct identity of the rules.In view of the above problems,this paper mainly studies the management and control technology of the SDN extensible forwarding plane.The main work and innovation include:(1)An extension model of action value based on OpenFlow protocol——FAE,is proposed.Using the action extension of OpenFlow protocol,the model manages and identity authentication of the user-defined forwarding rules from the north application by the extended SDN controller,and sends to the extended data layer forwarding plane with multiple user programmable modules.It improves the flexibility of control and data plane extension effectively in satisfying different custom forwarding rules and ensures the correctness of rule identity.(2)The FAE model is designed in detail.The user defined forwarding rule identity table is designed in the control plane.It makes the control plane to extend the user defined forwarding rule,and validate the rule's identity effectively.And in the data plane using completely independent user programmable module to implement specific extension forwarding.(3)The application of FAE model in SRv6 is realized and tested.Experimental results show that the FAE model can effectively support centralized SRv6 user-defined forwarding rules,and the time cost of sending it to the data plane after authentication is relatively stable.In the scenario of network link failure,the fast path conversion of dataflow is realized by using SRv6 application based on FAE,which proves the good performance and feasibility of FAE model.To sum up,this paper makes a deep research on the software defined network extensible forwarding plane management control technology,and puts forward the FAE model based on the action extension of OpenFlow protocol.The model has the advantages of simple extension on the data and control plane,high flexibility and can ensure the correct identity of rules,it has the theoretical significance and practical value to realize the management and control of user defined rule information and the deployment of rule information in SDN control plane and forwarding plane.
