As everyone knows,the texture of the image information is very rich,including the edge of the image as one of the basic features of the image,it is an important theoretical basis for image analysis and understanding in the nature of things,so the image edge detection is an important preprocessing process for further analysis of the image.Edge detection method is used to separate the boundary between the target and the target and the background to be extracted.In recent years,domestic and foreign scholars or researchers have studied the theory of different detection methods.For example,we are familiar with Roberts operator?Sobel operator?Laplace operator?Prewitt operator ?Log operator and so on the most early image edge detection methods.These early methods have many shortcomings in the edge detection,such as incomplete and fuzzy edge detection.Mathematical morphology is a new method of edge detection is the basic form of feature information of many advantages such as edge detection can not only simplify the image data to be processed and can keep the image.It is based on the nonlinear image processing method of set theory,based on the geometry and the morphological characteristics of the image as the research object,composed of a complete set of algorithms,so in recent years in the field of image processing has been widely used.First of all,this paper describes the research background,research significance and the domestic and foreign research on image edge detection technology.And then several familiar most early theory knowledge and the nature of the image edge detection method and traditional linear edge detection operator,and several other new edge detection methods are introduced,and the edge part of the above described the detection method of the simulation experiments so it can intuitively reflect the the difference between the detection results of different methods.Then the specific theoretical knowledge of mathematical morphology is described in detail,from the two value morphology theory to the gray morphology theory and their application in the actual image processing examples.Secondly,this paper introduces several kinds of methods of edge detection which are more popular and more widely used in mathematical morphology.Finally,according to the existing morphological detection methods are various problems,on the basis of the existing morphological detection methods,the structure elements are optimized and the filtering methods of mathematical morphology are optimized,a morphological edge detection algorithm is a new type of anti noise ability and has multi-scale structure improvement.The working principle of the improved algorithm is: in order to eliminate interference,the noise in the image firstly,taking the first step in different scale structure of image element alternate filtering operation,then use the multi-directional structure elements perform morphological edge detection operation to obtain image edge image.The experimental results indicate that this improved algorithm is an effective algorithm,it can not only remove salt and pepper noise but also can accurately locate the image edge,is a kind of high operation speed,high accuracy and practical algorithm,it can be used to extract the actual image edge.
