Research On Citation Features Of Academic Books In The Field Of Scientometrics In China

Academic books are knowledge carriers that are systematic,integrated,and longlength.They are an important part of academic exchanges and an important source of references in humanities and social science research in China.They are important for cultural prosperity,technological innovation,and discipline development.As an integral part of academic books,references are a sign of the author's citation behavior.In the process of writing a book,the author cites some documents,and puts them in the form of references in the footer of each page or behind the entire book.In addition,references contain important academic information and are a part that cannot be ignored in the process of book evaluation.Studying references in academic books in a certain field is an effective way to study authors,institutions,book influence and subject development level in this field.Based on the citation analysis and academic evaluation theory,this article starts with references,analyzes the general situation of references in academic books and studies the citation characteristics of academic books in the field of scientometrics in China.First,the article collects references of sample academic books and journal articles,and normalizes them.Secondly,the article analyzes the number,type,source,year,etc.of references,grasps the overall overview of references in academic books.And studies self-citation rate,the citation differences between Chinese and foreign languages,the citation time lag of various references and the basic situation of domestic cited authors about academic books from the citation preference of academic books,citation lags,citations of domestic authors.Trying to analyze the citation characteristics of academic books from multiple angles.Third,the article comparatively analyzes the citation differences between journal articles and academic books in terms of the citation types,citation delay,and the citation of core Chinese journals,and further highlights the citation characteristics of academic books.Finally,the article summarizes and looks forward to the problems existing in the reference books of academic books and the citation characteristics of academic books.The citation characteristics of academic books in the field of scientometrics can be summarized into several points:(1)The number of references has no obvious relationship with the length of the book,but it is affected by the time of book publication and the research theme.(2)There are various types of references in academic books,and the proportions of various types of references are large,and there are few cross-disciplinary citations.The source characteristics of Chinese and foreign references are obviously different.(3)The publication time of academic book references is large,and the references published earlier are mostly foreign documents.(4)Some academic books have a low self-citation rate,less accumulation of previous research results,uneven distribution of citation languages,excessive citation of literature in a certain language,and inaccurate grasp of research status and lack of innovation.(5)The time lag of reference citation is large,the publication time is early,and the novelty of the literature needs to be improved.(6)Among the references in academic books,there are many well-known scholars and potential scholars in the field.These highly cited scholars generally also have higher H and G indexes.
