Bibliometry Study On International Cooperation And Output Of Scientific Research In African Countries

With the continuous deepening of the globalization of science and technology,scientific and technological cooperation can effectively capture the opportunities of globalization and realize the development of domestic science and technology.Africa is the most underdeveloped region in the global science and technology,and many developed and developing countries attach great importance to the scientific and technological assistance and cooperation with African countries.However,there is no quantitative assessment of the results of their scientific cooperation with African eountries.Sci-tech papers are the main forms of scientific research output,and are important carriers for reflecting international scientific research cooperation.This paper uses the literature of African countries from 1977 to 2016 collected in the WoS database as samples,and uses bibliometrics methods to output from the papers.Three perspectives of cooperation,cooperation partners,and the distribution of cooperative papers are used to analyze the scientific research output and cooperation of African countries over the years.From the perspective of thesis output and cooperation,international scientific research cooperation has played an important role in improving the quantity and quality of scientific research output,whether it is in Africa or African countries.International cooperation papers have become an important part of the output of papers.It can effectively improve the paper's influence and reduce the production of zero-cited papers.The number of dissertations produced by African countries is quite different.A small number of African countries have certain scientific and technological foundations and conditions.Output is relatively high and international cooperation is relatively low.However,most countries with weak technological foundations rely more on international cooperation.The output is low and the cooperation rate is very high.The liriks between African countries are not close,and the role of cooperation in enhancing the influence of the country's dissertation is also very limited.Cooperation with non-African countries has a very important role in increasing the numberand influence of the country's dissertation's output.From the perspective of cooperation partners,the number of cooperative countries in Africa is large and its scope is wide,but there is less cooperation with most countries,and it is mainly concentrated in 16 developed countries or developing countries with more advanced science and technology.Although international cooperation is highly concentrated,yet it has been declining in recent years.And it tends to cooperate with more countries and demonstrates stronger openness in scientific research cooperation While the scientific research links among African countries are weak and limited but mainly spread to the outside world.They have formed special scientific and technological dependency relationships with developed countries and some developing countries and they have relatively stable scientific research partners.Although there are a large number of cooperating eountries in Africa,the influence of co-production output papers is quite different.Although some partners and African regions produce more cooperation,they have less high-quality output.In the case of African countries,the degree of internationalization is very different,and most of the African countries with more output are more internationalized,and the African countries with low output are also relatively low in the scope of intermational cooperation.Various partners have different levels of close cooperation with African countries.African countries not only have their own relatively stable partners,but also have a wide gap in the influence of cooperation output.Judging from the cooperation of various disciplines,there is not only a large difference in output between different disciplines in Africa,but also a great difference in the activity of international cooperation.In general,international cooperation plays an important role in increasing the number of output of the field.African regions and partners have different levels of close cooperation in various disciplines and have their own prominent areas.Among the 16 partners,the cooperation between most countries and the African region has played a very important role in enhancing the influence of papers in this field.Through the analysis and description of the paper output and cooperation status of African countries and African countries,this paper quantifies the scientific and technologicalachievements of international cooperation for many years,and provides a reliable reference for scientific research personnel,and has certain reference significance to the relevantdepartments in the formulation of non-scientific and technological assistance cooperationpolicy.
