With the development of science and technology,weapons and equipment are becoming more and more diverse in modern warfare,making the environment of the battlefield more and more complex and changeable.It is particularly important to identify target and distribute firepower through the radar on the battlefield.The high resolution range profile(HRRP)can obtain the information for attribute of the target,such as which country and what kind the ship(destroyer,frigate,aircraft carrier,supply ship,etc.)or armored vehicle(tank vehicle,step vehicle,armored vehicle,maintenance vehicle,etc.)belongs to;Therefore,we can apply it to the identification of the target's attributes.When combating targets such as enemy ships,the firepower allotment and target information are reported,so the paper mainly focuses on the recognition of ship target by HRRP.Firstly,the basic principle and characteristic analysis of HRRP are studied.Starting with the basic knowledge of HRRP,the point scattering center model is introduced,and on the basis of the model,how to obtain the HRRP of the target is described.Finally,the three characteristics of HRRP are analyzed theoretically,and we give corresponding pretreatment methods based on the three characteristics of HRRP.Secondly,the recognition method of HRRP of radar target is studied under different backgrounds.When the radar's transmitted signal is a chirp signal,the process of obtaining HRRP is introduced in a real environment,and each of these processes is presented in detail;Then,the point scattering models of three kinds of ships are obtained by modeling,and the HRRP of three types of ships under different attitude angles are acquired through simulation.The simulation verifies the similarity and the correlation of HRRP at different attitude angles of the same target,and the difference of the HRRP at the same attitude angle of different targets.Finally,we also prove the average HRRP can relax the attitude sensitivity of HRRP.Thirdly,the method of target recognition based on angular domain is studied.Firstly,the method of division of equal interval angular domain and the existing problems are introduced.Then,a method of adaptive angular domain partitioning is proposed,and its basic principle is analyzed and the specific steps of adaptive angular domain partitioning are introduced.And then,the method of template matching based on the maximum correlation coefficient is introduced.Finally,the training samples of three kinds of ship targets are divided by the method of angular division of equal interval and the method of adaptive angular division,thereby the template library for training samples is obtained.The recognition rate is acquired by matching the test samples of three kinds of ship targets and the template library by the method of template matching with maximum correlation coefficient.The number of templates and the recognition effect of these two approaches of angular division are compared,and the estimation range of angle of target recognition under the two methods is given.Finally,on the basis of modeling and simulation by software,the verification of the semi-physical simulation on the ADSP-TS201 is performed for the target recognition of HRRP of three types of ships.Firstly,the performance of the DSP,the mapping relation of the memory and the storage way of the HRRP obtained by the simulation are introduced in the DSP.Then,the implementing flow of the algorithm based on target recognition in the DSP is introduced,and the simulation verification is finally completed.
