Photovoltaic(pv)panel is the key component of the transformation solar energy into electricity,and the photoelectric conversion efficiency is the most important performance metrics.However,there are many factors affecting performance metrics.PV panel is always installed in the drought and little rain region with dust accumulation,which seriously affects the photoelectric conversion efficiency.Long-term accumulation of dust can even damage panels,making its burning and causing irreversible damage.Therefore,it is necessary to reduced and clean up dust and other sundry on the surface of panels.This paper analyses the characteristics of photovoltaic panels,the influence of the effect of the dust on surface,and force situation of dust particles.Then,we design a solar panel cleaning robot which can sweep through the brush,the cleanness of dust on the surface by such as the action of brushing or sweeping the panels.The cleaning process is no use of water and cleaner,with low consumption and no secondary pollution,etc,which is very suitable for large photovoltaic modules array of desert region.The experimental results show that the designation of the robot is reasonable,with accurate and reliable action,feasible technology,good cleaning effect and the stronger application promotion value.Firstly,we summarizes the basic technical features of the ideal cleaning robot by combining with the literature.And then we analyzes the force situation of dust particles on the surface of modules surface,the relevant analysis of cleaning brush,and design the clean way.Meanwhile,according to the actual working conditions,we determine the overall scheme,which includes that using Solidworks,we designes a roller rotary waterless cleaning robot with the walking,clean part and control part.In order to verify and improve the rigidity of key parts,strength and lightweight requirements,the software of ANSYS Workbench statics analysis is used to conduct the statics analyses of the key components of cleaning robot.According to the requirements of the moving parts and clean parts control,the software of adams is used to performe dynamics simulation of cleaning robot,on the basis of which,with PLC as the control core,control system design and process design are conducted out.The system can ensure stable and reliable cleaning process of the photovoltaic(pv)solar panel array.Finally,the cleaning robot prototype is run to be tested.By comparative analysis of cleaning effect,the results show that the prototype run with smooth operation,good cleaning effect,and 99% amount of dust cleaned,which has the good application promotion value and can meet the expected design requirements.
