With the development of cloud computing and Internet of Things,the scale of data is increasing rapidly.More and more companies and scientific research institutions have established their own data centers for big data applications.There are more demands in transferring large-scale data across data centers.However,most of the data transmission adopts TCP or UDP currently,the disadvantages of the transmission based on TCP are low efficiency of transmission,untimely and inaccurate traffic control,while the disadvantage of the transmission based on UDP is poor reliability.To solve the problems mentioned above and accelerate the transmission of large-scale data across the wide area without changes of upper application,this thesis proposes transmission control mechanism for large-scale data based on SDN over wide area.The thesis consists of the following aspects:(1)For the problem of transmitting large-scale data across wide area based on existing protocols,this thesis introduces session management into transmission control mechanism,and establishes an end-to-end transmission control model based on session management.This model can localize TCP connections within the datacenter while adopting UDP-based reliable Transport Protocol among datacenters and provide a basis for subsequent research work.(2)For the problem of low transmission efficiency in the TCP and poor reliability in the UDP,this thesis proposes a mechanism of reliable transmission based on UDP by combining the advantages of TCP and UDP which can make full use of advantage of UDP and make improvement of TCP under the condition of wide area.This mechanism can transmit large-scale data across wide area reliably and efficiently.(3)For the problem of untimely and inaccurate traffic control in the existing transmission control mechanisms,this thesis proposes a mechanism of end-to-end traffic control based on SDN which can find bottleneck link accurately and perform timely,accurate traffic control according to the capacity of bottleneck link.This mechanism can ensure that the amount of sending data matches the capacity of bottleneck link,avoid congestion of network as much as possible.In summary,this thesis conducts in-depth research on the problems of existing transmission protocol,introduces session management into the transmission control mechanism,and establishes an end-to-end transmission control model based on session management.A mechanism of reliable transmission based on UDP and a mechanism of end-to-end traffic control based on SDN are then proposed.The simulation experiments and the prototype system are to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this thesis.
