With the feature of compact size,great power capacity and high aperture efficiency,waveguide slot antenna has been widely used in radar,missile and satellite communication.Nowadays the antenna based on substrate integrated technology has become one of the research hotspots with the rapidly development of microwave and millimeter-wave communication.Owning to the advantages such as easy to integrate,small size and light weight,this technology has been widely used in slot antenna design,while slot antenna based on substrate integrated technology offers a huge potential to control aperture distribution for narrow beam width and low sidelobe.At first,we designed a filtering patch antenna by using substrate integrated coaxial line(SICL)technology.And then we proposed a novel transmission line termed substrate integrated coupled striplines(SICS),and realized a slot array antenna by using the proposed SICS technology.The work in this paper is illustrated as follows:(1)Design of a coplanar filtering antenna arrayA 2×2 coplanar patch antenna array with an SICL feeding network was designed.The symmetry and stability of the antenna radiation pattern are improved by the symmetrical equal amplitude and inphase feed.With a stub-loaded resonator and a radial stub,a filtering antenna array was achieved.(2)Design of a slot antenna array based on substrate integrated coupled striplinesIn the paper,an odd-mode excited substrate integrated transmission line called SICS was proposed,and then a 16×8 slot antenna array based on the proposed SICS technology combined with Chebyshev distribution was realized,the experimental results has verified the feasibility of the design methodology.
