With the explosive growth of low-latency,highly reliable services and exponential growth of mobile users, the limited spectrum resources and ever-growing service requirements have become the main problems in mobile communications. In order to solve the above problems,device-to-device(D2D)communications,as defined in the 3rd generation partner project(3GPP),is proposed to allow devices in close proximity to transmit data directly between each other, under the control of base station(BS).Therefore,it can effectively alleviate the load of BS,significantly improve the spectrum efficiency and network throughput.However,D2 D communications will bring additional co-channel interference to cellular users(CUs).The individual rationality of users reduces their willingness to share the spectrum resources, which ultimately limits the benefits of D2 D communications.Firstly, the basic concepts, characteristics and typical application scenarios of D2 D communications are introduced. Then, the current research hotspots are briefly analyzed, focusing on the resource allocation strategies in D2 D communication. Finally, the characteristics of the existing strategies are analyzed and summarized. Then,a social relationship and user satisfaction-aware resource allocation strategy for D2 D Communication is proposed.D2 D links are allowed to reuse and share the spectrum resources of adjacent CUs in response to the large number of duplicate content requests in local services.Specifically,by measuring the user mobility in terms of each user's partial historical trajectory information, the encounter duration between any two users is quantified to guarantee the channel quality of D2 D communication;the social relationship between users is measured from their own perspective,to facilitate users to share content of common interest.Based on this,an optimization problem about resource allocation is formulated and solved with the objective to maximize the user satisfaction.Numerical results verify that our proposed strategy can improve user satisfaction and throughput under limited spectrum resources simultaneously.Further more,a resource allocation strategy for D2D-enabled communications in vehicle platooning is proposed.Firstly,a two-stage platoon formation algorithm based on the platoon leader evaluation mechanism is proposed to form stable platoons combining the social relationships among users. Then,a predecessor-following communication mode based on D2 D is designed to reduce the measurement errors caused by complicated road conditions.Based on this,a time division based intra-platoon resource allocation strategy is proposed, which allocates resources for D2 D users efficiently within the platoon,to eliminate the co-channel interference.Furthermore,a minimum rate guaranteed inter-platoon resource allocation strategy is proposed to optimize CUs' rate while guaranteeing the minimum transmission rate for each platoon.Numerical results show that the proposed strategies can not only significantly improve spectrum resource utilization, but also guarantee the platoon stability.
