Since 2013,China's “Belt and Road” initiative has been in its six years.The impact of the “Belt and Road” overseas,its impression on the audiences along the line and other countries in the world,is crucial to the future development of the “Belt and Road”.The author believes that the most intuitive way to examine the evaluation of the “Belt and Road” of overseas audiences is to explore them from their discourses.Globalized social media “Twitter”carries dicourse of audiences from different countries,cultures and ideologies.The discourse of the “Belt and Road” in Twitter is the subject of research,which can collect more comprehensive voices,and the existing literature has not yet paid attention to this aspect.Therefore,the article chooses Twitter discourse for research and interpretation.From the perspective of critical discourse analysis,the article takes the three-dimensional framework of Fairclough's discourse analysis method as the benchmark,and combines the context and text characteristics of Twitter to carry out certain innovations in analytical indicators and methods.In order to answer the following research questions: How do the audiences of different countries and regions construct the “Belt and Road” through Twitter' discourse? How does the discourse of the “Belt and Road”produce and spread? What kind of ideology and power relationship are reflected behind these discourse?After extensively collecting samples of discourse,the author examines Twitter's“Belt and Road” discourse from three dimensions: textual analysis,discourse practice and social practice.In textual analysis,this thesis analyzes the two aspects of vocabulary and grammatical expression,and finds that in terms of discourse producers construct different attitudes of “Belt and Road” through excessive lexicalization,metaphor,transitivity and modality.In the dimension of discourse practice,The "Belt and Road" discourse of Twitter mainly uses the two intertextual methods of quoting and providing links,and cites other discourses for the production of texts;through the appreciation and denial of two intertextual behaviors and retweets for text consumption.The author also screened and sorted out the discourse practitioners from different countries and regions and different social identities,and summarized how Twitter's “Belt and Road”discourse practice was unfolded.The social and cultural practice dimension combines the analysis results of the text dimension and the discourse practice dimension.Firstly,the power structure of the middle level and the macro level is described.This paper finds that Twitter's “Belt and Road” discourse can attribute the discourse representation of the former from the aspects of ideology and hegemony,and think that different values and social powers are different.The audience has deviations in the construction process.Then through the imagination of the "other" and the international relations at different stages,it is clear why the discourses present such power.Different ideologies give different discourse producers the motivation to shape the "Belt and Road",while China isdifferent from Western and non-Western countries.International relations are also important factors influencing the production,distribution and consumption of discourse.
