Investigation And Research Of Thematic Museum In Hangzhou Area

With the enhancement of national economic strength and cultural strength,China has seen booming cultural industry and further promoted cause of cultural museum.As a result,the number of museums is increasing year by year,and the museum is developing from traditional form of comprehensive museums to thematic museum.As a famous historical and cultural city,Hangzhou boasts a profound history and rich cultural resources.In addition to comprehensive museums at provincial and county levels,there are a large number of museums of various thematic types,which may be divided into natural geography,history and culture,Industrial specialties and arts.Unlike comprehensive museums,these thematic museums show Hangzhou's regional culture from various angles and aspects with their advantages of specialty and uniqueness.However,due to different jurisdictions and investors,the development of these thematic museums is unbalanced.How to better display the regional cultural characteristics and allow for the sustained development of thematic museums in this region is the focus of this paper.Firstly,this paper gives a brief overview of the overall situation of the thematic museums in Hangzhou from three aspects: development history,distribution and type structure.It is concluded that the thematic museums in Hangzhou are featured by late start,rapid development,wide distribution and a lot of types.Based on the actual situation,taking the historical and cultural museums in Hangzhou as an example,this paper conducts an investigation and study,and makes an analysis of the status quo from the aspects of collection exhibition,operation and management,publicity,education and scientific research.It is found that main problems include complicated jurisdiction relationship,confused registration system,difficulty in introducing talents,lack of innovative awareness,and failure to make timely news update.As a matter of fact,non-state-owned museums account for aconsiderable proportion of thematic museums in Hangzhou.Many problems actually are derived from this.And the fundamental problem lies in funds,which need to be solved urgently.Apart from the inadequacies of museums themselves and the need to be improved,the inaction of local governments and the neglect of non-state-owned museums have also resulted in many obstacles to the development of excellent thematic museums.Based on the local cultural administration departments and museums themselves,this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.It is believed that each thematic museum itself and the local cultural administration departments need to make concerted efforts for it to achieve great development in Hangzhou.In the future,for the development of thematic museums in Hangzhou,more attention should be paid to both quantity and quality.For the development of thematic museums in other regions,the same thing should be also done.The region should give full play to its own advantages and exploit local superior resources.Local governments should actively respond to national policies and guidelines and encourage the construction and development of local excellent thematic museums.
