In today's era, with the continuous innovation of network technology, social media has become the main platform for people to access information and share daily life, and it is an indispensable part.Social media relies on real-time,interactive features to achieve rapid dissemination of all kinds of information, its impact has penetrated into all aspects of our lives. At the same time, with the development of urbanization in our country, the older generation of migrant workers gradually retire behind the scenes, and the new generation of migrant workers become the main force of migrant workers, playing an important role in the urban modernization construction. But the new generation of migrant workers really integrated into the city, there are still many tests. Therefore, how to effectively guide the new generation of migrant workers to use social media correctly in order to more smoothly adapt to the new urban life and achieve their own life goals has a great role. This paper mainly attempts to conduct in-depth interviews with Hainan's new generation of migrant workers, and to explore the differences of urban identity status of Hainan's new generation migrant workers before, during and after the three stages of using social media.Through interviews,we find that in the first stage, the use of social media provides a channel for the new generation of migrant workers to communicate with the city,so that the new generation of migrant workers can shape their urban imagination through social classification and social comparison. In the second stage, there is a gap between the new generation of migrant workers who used social media to shape Hainan's beautiful vision and social reality. With the use of social media, they will engage in "involution" socialization with their relatives and geographic groups, and "simplification" socialization with their colleagues, some of them will also engage in socialization with groups with common interests.Virtual social networking. However,no matter what kind of groups they communicate with through social media, the dual marginalization has brought about the loss of "urban integration and rural return" to the new generation of migrant workers. In the third stage, the new generation of migrant workers will choose to maintain and establish the new relationship in the current city in the later period of urban migration. At this time, they will no longer use social media alone to relieve loneliness, but rather use social media as an emotional expression platform and opinion expression platform. And with the collision of the dual cultures of the new generation of migrant workers in urban and rural areas and strata, the cognitive structure began to be strengthened and restored. The new generation of migrant workers can interact equally and bidirectionally through social media, temporarily forget their "migrant workers" identity, and eager to integrate into the city process to obtain a new identity. Finally, according to the difference of social media usage in the three stages before, during and after the new generation of migrant workers entering the city, this paper puts forward some countermeasures or suggestions to help their urban life from the four levels of government, social media platform, urban community and new generation of migrant workers.
