Research On Yang Dongquan's Thought Of Appraisal For Archival Values

The development of archival appraisal theory is inseparable from the practice of appraisal work.Many archival appraisal theories are proposed by archivists,who engaged in the archival work.As the former director of the National Archives Administration of China,Yang Dongquan not only has a solidly theoretical foundation of archival science and history,but also has rich experience in archival work.In the process of doing practical work for many years,he has his own views in many aspects of archival work,among which the most valuable and typical ideas is his thought of appraisal for archival values.Therefore,studying this thought is of great significance for enriching China's archival appraisal theory,providing new ideas for related research,and guiding the development of archival appraisal work.In addition,this research can obtain first-hand materials through interviews,and while ensuring it is scientific,it will also help promote the study of contemporary archivists' academic thoughts,thus constructing and retaining archival science memory.Under this background,the thesis takes 'Yang Dongquan's thought of appraisal for archival values' as the research object.First of all,the thesis reviews and summarizes the evolution process of Yang's thought of appraisal for archival values.According to the landmark events,it is divided into three stages:germination,development and maturity.On this basis,the thesis combines the evolution process of his thoughts with the different historical periods of reform and opening up,the reform of document and archives management mode and the personal experience of Yang Dongquan to analyze the development regulation of his thoughts,thinking that Yang's thought is deeply influenced by social reform and the development of archives work,which is derived from practice and guides the development of practice.Secondly,the thesis systematically sorts and summarizes the core content of Yang's thought of appraisal for archival values,and divides it into two parts:the understanding of archival value and the cognition of appraisal for archival values.Specifically,it includes the characteristics of archival value,the archivist's misunderstanding of archival values,the connotation,significance and practical application of appraisal for archival values,the appraisal principles and standards,and the appraisal for archival values in the era of electronic records.Thirdly,in order to deepen the understanding of Yang's thought of appraisal for archival values,the thesis also selects the representative and comparable archival appraisal theory at home and abroad to compare with Yang's thought to clarify the similarities and differences between them,from the social background and starting point,the understanding of archival values and the formulation of the appraisal principles and standards.In addition,through the comparative study,it is also concluded that the root of the development of archival appraisal theory lies in the archival work practice developed due to the changes of the times.Finally,on the basis of the above research,the thesis systematically evaluates Yang's thought of appraisal for archival values,thinking that Yang's thought has distinctly historical,practical and advanced characteristics,and the significant value in theoretical and practical aspects.At the same time,there are also several limitations that its theorization and integrity need to be strengthened.
