When rapidly developing information technology continues to penetrate people's lives,optoelectronic information technology uses light as a means of information transmission,storage and processing tools have been widely used.The function of the modulator is to load a signal carrying information onto the carrier light wave.When the modulator is operating,based on its working principle,we can classify it as an electroabsorption modulator and an electro-optic modulator.The following summary is the main research content of this paper:Firstly,a transfer matrix method based on graphene-based layered media.The transfer matrix method is a powerful tool for analyzing the propagation of light through a layered dielectric.The central idea is that an electric or magnetic field at a location can be associated with an electric field at other locations through a transfer matrix.Within the framework of the transfer matrix method,there are two matrices:the first one is the propagation matrix,the second is the transmission matrix.This paper focuses on the transfer matrix method in layered media,and simulates the device through this method,and gives an example.Secondly,a graphene-based space electro-optic modulator.A graphene-based reflective space electro-optic modulator is proposed.The spatial wave to be modulated is coupled into the waveguide type electro-optic modulation module through a spatial optical coupling module to excite the guided mode resonance.When the waveguide type electro-optic modulation module operates under an applied voltage,modulation of spatial light waves can be achieved due to electro-optic effects.The physical mechanism of the guided mode resonance and the working principle of the device are discussed.In addition,the effects of graphene,geometric parameters,substrate refractive index and applied voltage on the modulation performance were also analyzed.Thirdly,a graphene-based space electroabsorption modulator.A graphene-based space electroabsorption modulator different from the above modulation principle is proposed.The working principle of the device is similar to the above.The research characteristics of the graphene space electric absorber and the phenomenon analysis and principle discussion are mainly studied.In addition,the effects of graphene,geometrical parameters,substrate refractive index and applied voltage on modulation performance were analyzed.
