Research On Collaborative Innovation Mechanism Of Based On Platform Enterprise's Innovation Ecosystem

In order to improve innovation and market responsiveness,more and more companies are trying to establish or join an innovation ecosystem that works closely with suppliers,outsourcers,distributors,intermediaries,customers,research institutions,universities and governments(Iansiti&Levien,2004;Adner,2006;Adner&Kapoor,2010,2015;Yu,et al,2017).The existing research on innovation ecosystems focuses on collaborative innovation activities in which core enterprises and upstream and downstream enterprises have bilateral relationships.The existing research on innovation ecosystems focuses on collaborative innovation activities in which core enterprises and upstream and downstream enterprises have bilateral relationships.However,some scholars believe that this analysis of bilateral relations cannot perfectly explain the collaborative innovation mechanism between innovative ecosystem enterprises and partners,because there are upstream and downstream enterprises that may not respond to core enterprise ecological calls(join the ecosystem call of the focal firm)problem(Ritala,et al,2013;Radziwon,et al,2016).Such research often links the platform to the innovation ecosystem and considers platform companies as the catalysts and leaders of system innovation,playing a central and key role in system innovation(Rober and Perrons,2009;Scholten,2012;Nambisan,et Al,2013;West and Wood,2013).And platform companies that support the innovation ecosystem need to think about the value creation model and design a multi-party joint action plan for the system to create value for each participant in the system.This means that innovative ecosystem platform companies need to attract multilateral groups,so that many groups with interests can interact and realize value added(Hou Yuga,2015).The trade-offs of multilateral relations make the collaborative innovation activities of platform enterprises and cooperative enterprises in the innovation ecosystem more complicated.Therefore,collaborative innovation activities in the innovation ecosystem of platform enterprises need to comprehensively examine many influencing factors to judge the important role.The key element is to test which combination of factors will be more conducive to collaborative innovation between platform enterprises and cooperative enterprises.Which combination of factors has no obvious influence on the realization of collaborative innovation,and finally clarify the collaborative innovation mechanism of innovation ecosystem based on platform enterprises.This study uses a qualitative comparison analysis of fuzzy sets(fsQCA)to comprehensively consider a series of influencing factors discovered by existing scholars,and analyzes the combination of various influencing factors from the perspective of mutual substitution(collection)or complementation(intersection).The combined effect of the same outcome variable(collaborative innovation)to clarify the synergistic innovation mechanism of the innovation ecosystem based on platform enterprises.And by combing the case study of the innovation ecosystemQuestionnaires were issued(platform companies)and a total of 50 valid questionnaires were obtained.Through the fuzzy set qualitative comparison analysis,the following several paths are obtained:(1)Platform companies and long-term cooperative partners have two paths to achieve collaborative innovation(depending on the choice of platform enterprise incentives):The first path is that platform companies choose to implement monetary incentives and selective knowledge disclosure for cooperative enterprises to achieve their goals.The second path is for platform companies to choose non-monetary incentives for partners,patent cross-licensing and knowledge-based disclosure to achieve collaborative innovation.(2)The path between platform enterprises and short-term cooperation partners to achieve collaborative innovation is that the platform enterprises choose goodwill and good trust partners to provide both monetary incentives and non-monetary incentives to achieve the goals.(3)For platform companies that do not consider the time of cooperation with partners,they can also implement collaborative innovation by selecting monetary incentives and selective knowledge disclosure by selecting partners with good reputation and good trust.The research results test which combination of factors will be more conducive to the collaborative innovation of platform enterprises and cooperative enterprises,which factors are necessary to achieve the necessary conditions for collaborative innovation,and finally clarify the collaborative innovation mechanism of innovation ecosystem based on platform enterprises.Finally,according to the research conclusions,the management enlightenment that platform enterprises play a leading role in the innovation ecosystem to achieve collaborative innovation with partners is proposed,and the shortcomings in this research are pointed out.
