At the end of the Qing Dynasty,European wind blowing,the children's library is a number of cultural and educational circles introduced to Chinese as " a person with breadth of vision of social education institutions to enlighten people".During the period of the Republic of China,the cause of the children's Library in China had been developed from scratch.Children's library is an educational institution with minors as the object of education.It is an important branch of Chinese Librarianship and plays an important role in the history of children's library.As an important base for juveniles' social education,children's library is the main place for children's extracurricular reading and self-learning,playing a supplementary,extending and deepening role in school education.In this study,from the perspective of social education,the text analysis of the children's Library in the period of the Republic of China.Through the analysis of the related books and periodicals of the children's library,the symbiotic relationship of mutual promotion and mutual influence between them is understood.Based on the overall development of the children's Library and referring to the achievements of previous studies,the development of the children's library is divided into four periods: the germination period,the initial development period,the prosperity and the sharp decline period.This article from the development background,social education practice and the development characteristicsof efforts to outline the overall development of Libraries in the period of the Republic of China children,to provide the reference for the development of academic research in modern library history and today's children library.The government should increase the investment in children's library,the social education function;improve the awareness of citizens in the children's library,children play the social value of the library;children's library should pay attention to the special requirements of users,and strive to build a learning society.
