Global Times International Issues Assessment (2014-2017)

The newspaper is a record of the social status quo.To some extent,it carries the political,economic,cultural,and social information of one country or even many countries.It can,to varying degrees,show the relationship between China and other countries in the world and the development of relations between other countries..In particular,the editorial,which is called the “Marshal of the Party Newspaper”,serves as a kind of news commentary and is a comment made by the newspaper editorial department on major issues.The "Global Times" as the leader of C hina's international news newspaper can clearly show the development and changes of international relations from the side.The author conducted statistical analysis and content analysis of the international issues of the “Global Times” from 2014 to 2017,focusing on the international relations under the perspective of the newspaper,including the relations between China and the big countries,and the relations between C hina and its neighboring countries.The scenes presented by the international conflicts and the characteristics highlighted by them and the thoughts and revelations they cause.Through research,it has been found that the “Global Times” is relatively objective and neutral in its evaluation of international issues.It shows self-confidence in China's active participation in international affairs,but some issues related to its core interests reveal a sense of crisis.In terms of international relations,they mainly exhibit the following characteristics: Sino-U.S.relations also have collisions in their cooperation;Sino-Russian relations are friendly and close;international conflicts show instability;Sino-Japanese relations are complex and there is a small degree of tension in tension;there are also frictions in the stability of China-ROK relations;C hina and the Philippines Vietnam Relationships are in tension.Through the analysis of the characteristics of the above-mentioned international relations,the following thoughts and inspirations have been drawn: The Global Times,as a vehicle for people to understand international affairs,should find a balance between the folk discourse and the national discourse,strengthen the commentary,and at the same time enhance its own public opinion guidance ability.
